YES, You Can Drink Wine While Watching the Super Bowl! |
|
Yeah, yeah, we know there's a very good chance your favorite team didn't make it to the big game. But we also know you're still probably going to watch it anyway. Because really, for many of us, the Super Bowl is just a convenient excuse to eat, drink, and hang out with friends.
Now you may think the Super Bowl is more of a beer kind of event. But we (obviously) beg to differ. We've picked out some wine suggestions that can happily co-exist with beer bottles. Liter bottles, magnums, Tetra Paks, box wines, wines with beer-like pop tops...all tasty, easy to drink, and excellent deals.
To browse all of our Super Bowl suggestions, go to the Wines page, enter SUPERBOWL in the producer/vintage/region box. Or check out a few highlights below. |
SKIP THE BEER,
KEEP THE POP TOP
You can be fairly certain no one else will be bringing this to the Super Bowl party. Pink, slightly sparkling and slightly sweet are not your usual big-manly-game-drink signifiers. But this one is earthy, fruity, and a little bit funky. And it's sealed with a crown cap (fancy speak for "beer pop top") so it won't feel (too) out of place among the beer bottles. Take a chance. You know you're intrigued!! Price: $23.99

DON'T FEAR THE BOX
You can put good wine in a box. You can put bad wine in a box. We only sell the good wine ones. Pop one open and drink a glass a night for six weeks. Or pop one open for your Super Bowl party and drink it all in one night. Your choice. We have a selection of reds and whites, ranging from $24.99 to $35.99 for a 3 Liter box. That works out to $6.25 to $8.99 per bottle. You really can't do much better than that.

TETRA PAKS
We've had these Yellow & Blue Tetra Pak wines on the shelf since they day they hit the market. They may look like juice boxes (we've been told there are certain situations where this comes in handy) but they're definitely filled with wine. A liter of wine, to be specific - so despite the compact size, you're actually getting an extra glass or two vs. a bottle. Bonus: the wines are all made from organically grown grapes. And to answer the most frequently asked question: yes, the wine is good. It won't change your life, but for $11.99/liter, it will make you happy! Choose from Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, and Torrontes.
