Firework celebrationANNOUNCEMENT:
OUR WEB SITE IS UP
And by "web site" we don't mean the single page that's been holding court for the past year.  We mean a proper e-commerce site, with (relatively) accurate inventory, secure transaction functionality, ever-changing content, a calendar and links to the Frankly Wine blog.  Check it out here and let us know what you think.

Please just realize that as with most wine store websites, your order is usually not shipped out immediately.  If you need it delivered same day, call us!
SWEETS FOR THE SWEET: Valentine's Day Suggestions
Chocolates for Valentine's Day?  So cliché.  Pick up some grown-up sweets instead.  All of these are best served chilled.

Piandibugnano Nanerone 2006 375ml (Tuscany, Italy)A unique sweet red from one of our favorite new importers.  Subtle rose notes, red berries, and hints of chocolate, rich, yet not cloying - it tastes like Valentine's Day in a bottle.  Price: $34.99

Vinedo de los Vientos Alcyone Tannat 375ml (Atlantida, Uruguay): About as odd as they come.  From an obscure wine-growing region (Uruguay)?  Check.  From an obscure grape variety (Tannat)?  Check.  Made by a crazy ponytail sporting winemaker?  Check.  But the bottom line is delicious: grown-up chocolate with a hint of mint...in liquid form.  Don't deny your sweetheart this unique treat.
Price: $27.99

Lingot Martin Cerdon-Bugey NV Sparkling Rose (Cerdon-Bugey, France): Very slightly sweet, sparkling, absolutely charming and delightful.  You would have to be a sourpuss to not like this wine.  Price: $21.99
GOING...GOING...ALMOST GONE
Red alert that two customer favorites are approaching the end of their run.  If you're one of the many that like these wines, stock up NOW.  We can't be held responsible if you miss out.

Buy a case (12 bottles) or more of either wine and you get a 15% discount.  This discount is not available on-line, so stop in, call, or email us to place your order.

Jean-Luc Thunevin Bad Boy Bordeaux 2005 (Bordeaux, France):
bad boy sheep labelThis is the one with the black sheep on the label.  Those of you who have gotten beyond that know that this is great wine.  Owner Jean-Luc Thunevin made his name as one of Bordeaux's "bad boys" with Chateau Valandraud, a wine with no history that quickly out priced many established Bordeaux names.  The Bad Boy is his more accessible wine (meaning it doesn't cost $500/bottle).   Certain wine folks hate the word "loaded", but this wine is definitely loaded... big, rich, with dark fruits, earthiness, leathery/tobacco-y notes.

We snagged the last cases of the 2005 vintage available in the New York market.  When they're gone, they're gone.  We haven't tried the 2006 yet, so we can't yet vouch for a repeat performance.  So if you like the Bad Boy, stock up now.

ecceterra bottleDomaine du Clos Roca ecceterra 2006 (VdPays de l'Herault, France):
This lovely little wine exists for one vintage only (ask us why, it's a sad story).  A blend of Mouvedre and Carignan grapes, it's medium-bodied yet full of flavor, combining bright, vibrant red fruits and darker brambles with the teeny tiniest hint of spritz.  It's our go-to match for spicy foods, burgers, pizza, stews, or just on its own.  No wonder it's been a fan favorite since we brought it in.  We're going to miss it terribly when it's gone.

Regular price is $13.99, but we snagged the last bunch of cases on special deal.  And since we got a deal, you get a deal:

$11.99 until it's all sold out.
Buy a full case for $122 (that's $10.19/bottle)
