This Week At Frankly Wines
Hello summer! The heat is on and the 4th of July is just around the corner. To ensure no one in the neighborhood is wine-deprived, we will be open on Friday the 4th, as well as Saturday and Sunday.
Stop in for some last minutes selections before you hit the highway and head out of town. Or if you're sticking around, pick up something for your rooftop sipping, picnic drinking, or air-conditioned chilling. Suggestions are below.

Nothing too serious here - just a few suggestions to keep in mind for your holiday sipping line up!
WHITES
Casamaro Rueda (Rueda, Spain) - Rueda is the region, Verdejo is the grape, and the wine is crisp, lively and refreshing with notes of peaches, citrus, and bright minerality (just minerals, no vitamins). Price: $13.99
Domaine St Nicolas Les Clous (Fiefs Vendeens, France) - Biodynamically grown grapes, an obscure little region, a wacky blend of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc - a wine geek's dream. But don't let that scare you because this wine is simply a great hot weather wine- bracingly crisp, minerally, notes of green apples and citrus peel. Price: $17.99
Deneza Torrontes (Salta, Argentina) - For something a little more aromatic and fuller bodied, try the Torrontes grape. Exotic flavors of white flowers, spice, lively acidity, crisp pear and apple. It's like a little tango for your tongue. Price: $14.99
Domaine de la Madone 'Perreon' Beaujolais-Village (Beaujolais, France) - A red that doesn't mind a little bit of chill. Fresh, vibrant red fruits, floral notes (think violets). The perfect summer wine for those who don't do whites. Price $12.99
Teira Zinfandel (Sonoma, California) - A Zinfandel that you can drink during a heat wave. All the big fruit and spice you want with the touch of elegance you need in a hot weather wine. Fire up the grill! Price: $17.99
Domaine de Blanes le Clot (VdP des Cotes Catalanes) - 50/50 blend of Grenache and Syrah. Juicy fruit + a kick of spice makes this a nice, hearty rose. An excellent picnic wine but it can also take on the BBQ. Bonus: it's biodynamic and the winemaker is a very cool chick. Price: $14.99
Lopez de Heredia Tondonia Rosado 1997 (Rioja, Spain) - OK, so we had to sneak in one serious wine. But we can't help it - we're obsessed with this wonderfully unusual aged rose. Ask us about it - we'll go on and on and on and on...you may not have time to get to the fireworks...Price: $27.99

Feeling flush? Looking for something special? Let us suggest the following:
Barnett Vineyard Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
(Spring Mountain District, Napa, California)

What you need to know:
- Undercover cult cab from Cali (say thSat a few times fast) that you'll usually only find on restuarant wine lists
- Hillside fruit from from one of Napa's highest-altitude sites = top quality grapes
- Hand harvested because the hills are so steep that tractors would just fall off
- Old-school California style = dark brambly fruits, little bits of cherry, tobacco leaf notes, some spice and a nicely integrated tannic structure
- Goes great with big hunks of meat on the grill
- Winemaker is pretty cute
- Drinking beautifully RIGHT NOW
Price: $58.99
