A Passover Plot

 You visited me in prison

"to set the captives free"

Pastor Aleksey shares...

"A few brave members of our congregation have been visiting prisoners in Israeli jails. They are able to share with them some needed compassion, a few books with the message of Hope and the Good News that can change their lives and set them on a path to new life."

Yeshua exhorts his followers to care for the needy. When others just turn their backs, we are expected to do those things for them which, in their weak state, they are not capable of doing for themselves. Visiting the sick and caring for the needy, even those in jail, has always been considered an essential part of Jewish tradition and as followers of Messiah...
...how much more should we reach out and care.

Pastor Aleksey travels...

to Latvia over the Passover Holidays to teach in a Bible School. He will be focusing on God's Covenants helping the believers there understand the unique place of Israel in history and how all nations are effected by what happens in this nation.

Prayer for Aleksey's father
Aleksey's father has been diagnosed with a growth on his kidney which has spread to his lungs. In the midst of all this he has given his life to Messiah. Let's pray for him and the entire family.

Greetings!

Spring has arrived and we are jumping out of the stalls with excitment about what the Lord is doing! Have a peek at some of the highlights....
"care for orphans and widows.."

Annu shares...

"It has been great to see the spiritual growth in the single mothers of our congregation. Most of them are good examples for the other members. Please pray for the one mother who wants to open her own business: for guidance and financial needs. Cover with your prayer another family whose oldest of three boys started the army. Pray for protection for her son and peace for the mother. Pray for another young widowed mother with two young boys. Her first son started school and he is facing many problems. Pray for wisdom and patience for the mother."

Mideast news not seen on CNN

Dima and Sarah the young couple that recently married at Beit Immanuel just returned from a ministry trip to Turkey where they met with ex-Muslim believers from around the Middle East. During a week of meetings they learned about the struggles of believers in Arab countries and prayed together as to how we can partner together with these courageous young people standing up for their faith in a hostile environment.

Surprisingly enough these young Arab Christians are also standing up for Israel. While being persecuted for their faith in the Bible they also choose to stand with the Jewish nation. These committed and compassionate Christians understand that they received God's word from the Jewish people and see Islamic hatred and terror towards Israel as the ugly horror it truly is.

Thank you Dima, Sarah and the many other young people in Israel and around the Middle East for your willingness to stand up for truth when it is unpopular and even dangerous. These brave hearts are worthy of our support and prayers. As rumors of war and tensions build in this part of the world it is crucial that we do give way to fear or discouragement but keep focused on the goal of reaching our people with the light and the truth that can save them.
Passover Guests

Some of our Home Groups are hosting a group of German Pastors for a Passover Seder meal this year.  It is great to see Christians from around the world recovering the Jewish roots of the faith and wanting to experience Jewish traditions like the Passover. It is an honor to share this rich heritage with our friends from around the world. We know that many will be enriched as they experience the messages of emancipation, freedom and family found in the Passover Celebration.

Upcoming Seminars...

This weekend we are hosting a seminar with Robin Longren from Sweden and in late May Sven Gunnar from Sweden will be with us again. Please pray for these dear friends who come at great expense and sacrifice to bless the people of Israel.

Seminars are also planned in May with "Ancient Paths" the materials developed by Craig Hill.  Pray that these will strengthen families and individuals in their walk with Messiah and in their relationships one with another.

Caring for the city

more from Pastor Aleksey...

"Recently I contacted the Department of New Immigrant Absorption in the city of Bat Yam (just south of Tel Aviv) to find out how we can help needy families. We want to start with a few families and see how this work can grow. We just received approval from the Municipality of Bat Yam to assist five families. We will visit them and find out just how we can help.

Our Home Group leaders will be taking the initiative in this project getting our members involved and everyone is very excited about the potential of reaching out to our neighbors and impacting our city. Since we have no budget for this work we need to make a special collection for this and everyone agreed to do their part."
