Our young people
Our oldest son Joshua completes five years of military service in March. He will be traveling to Nepal and South America with a few of his close buddies on Massah. Massah is Hebrew for a journey, and most young Israelis take time after their army service to "clear their heads" and think about what they want to do in the future.
For Josh and his friends there is an additional purpose to this trip. Meeting with hundreds of other young Israelis they will challenge them to consider the unique destiny and call of God on their lives. The saying goes that you can take a Jew out of Israel, but you cannot take Israel out of a Jew. Joshua wants to help young Israelis connect with their biblical heritage and consider the Messianic claims of Yeshua. You can help support Joshua and his friends, and stay connected with them on thier Massah by e-mailing him here.
Dima Tretiakov a young man in our congregation is currently studying animation at the Bezalel School of Arts in Jerusalem. Dima is one of the premier street artists in Tel-Aviv. Dima dreams about creating educational animation for children that teach values. He is creating art and film that will impact young people with meaningful story.
Dima works with the young people in our congregation and is also one of the youth leaders for Yad b'Yad, the Israeli and German Youth Exchange project. Dima needs our support in order to be able to help with this summer's program. He also needs an upgraded computer for his animation work. If you would like to help support Dima, please e-mail us here.
Our daughter Moriel just came back from an amazing trip to Turkey where she met with other Jewish and Arab believers from around the Middle East. Moriel said that it was most important for her to meet with the Arabs and build meaningful relationships with people that are commonly considered our enemies. She experienced first-hand the power of reconciliation and came home with a renewed passion to serve the God of Israel, the Prince of Peace. You can encourage Moriel with an e-mail by clicking here.
Our City
Thank you for all the many prayers and support we received for the Yad b'Yad Benefit Concert last week that Michaella, Pnina, Anna and friends gave. The hall was full with friends, festivities and food. Everyone enjoyed a fantastic evening of excellent music, and donated generously to the Yad b'Yad project. Pray with us that we can organize many more occasions to share about the exciting work of Yad b'Yad.

Large numbers of groups continue to visit us here at Beit Immanuel to learn about the history of the early Zionists and the First Modern Hebrew City. This week, Tel-Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai came with a group of 40 of the city's most influential CEO's. They enjoyed the tour so much that the Mayor came back two days later with his family!
Beit Immanuel is a registered official city museum and heritage center telling the story of the first Aliyiot and pioneer settlers who arrived on the shores of Jaffa in the 1800's. What a privilege it is to hold these unique archives of pictures and history of this period and to tell the story of the brave Christians and Jews who worked together to build the largest Jewish city in modern Israel.
May 7-8 we will host another "Open House" where thousands of Israelis come to hear the stories and get a taste of our own unique Messianic hospitality. For more information on our museum visit our Heritage Center on the web site.
Our Congregation
We are in the midst of hosting a number of seminars on sexuality for our young people and unmarried adults. In today's amoral climate this is not an easy topic. Pray for our staff as we prepare these talks, as well as for the young people and singles. We are trying to create an atmosphere where we can support one another and develop healthy and godly lifestyles and family.
We celebrate Purim Saturday night with a party, a play and giving gifts to one another. The tradition of giving gifts to one another and to the poor comes from the Scroll of Esther where we are commanded to share the joy of God's delieverance with others. Why not think of some ways you can bless someone with the blessings you have received?
Michaella has begun a Youth Orchestra with our 12-14 year-olds. She also has a number of new flute and art students. If you are interested in studying art or music here at Beit Immanuel please click here to e-mail Michaella.
