Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. ~Henry Ford
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. ~ Saint Paul to the Philippians (3: 14) On June 5, twenty-one young men and women graduated from Saint Paul Lutheran School, ready to take the next step in their educations, and in their personal growth. They have attended this school-some for a few years, some for their entire school careers-and have been surrounded by the words and love of Jesus Christ. They have learned that their identity as Children of God supersedes any other identity they can embrace, and they have given and received forgiveness in the course of their dealings with their classmates and teachers. When school resumes, these alumnae will be spread among many area high schools, and their opportunities to be lights in a dark world will, indeed, multiply! In past years, our grads have been very well-represented in high school academic honor rolls as well as extra-curriculars, with lots of choir, band, drama, debate, Orchesis, and sports team members, as well as not just a few newspaper writers and editors coming out of Saint Paul! They have set goals, overcome obstacles, and made their mark! This year's class will be no exception---we look forward to hearing great things about them during their high school years. They have already made their indelible mark on the school in a positive way-they have been fine leaders and examples, especially to the younger students in the school. What a blessing that has been! It is our prayer that God strengthen and bless this class and their witness in whatever endeavors they choose. Farewell, Class of 2009! We'll miss you, Ericka, Eric, Jake, Nicole, Cassandra, Ryan, Bradley, Kathryn, Allison, Matthew, Demetrius, Eva, Ashley, Daniel, Eric, Patricia, Sara, Hanna, Frank, Carissa, and Sarah! Set good goals, work hard, and keep your eye on the prize that matters most-Jesus and His love for you, and all the friends you will meet!

The 4th of July is not far away! Our church and school sends a float to the Mt. Prospect Parade every year, and we'd LOVE to have you join us the afternoon of July 4th in the parade! Because Business Week Magazine bestowed the honor on Mt. Prospect this year, the parade theme is "THE BEST PLACE TO RAISE YOUR KIDS." Want more information? Want to walk in the parade? Please call Tom Schreiner at 847.364.8139 for the details.

| Enrollment Underway for Next Fall
Acceptance letters for the 2009-2010 academic year have been mailed, but we still are accepting enrollment applications for grade levels with openings. If you know of a family who might be interested in a Christian education for their preschool through eighth grade children, please encourage them to call the school at 847-255-6733 to set up an appointment to visit or to obtain more information. God has blessed us greatly and we want to spread that blessing to as many others as possible. Our graduates do well in high school in all venues: academic, athletic, and fine arts. Help us let Christ's light shine into more lives. Encourage your friends and neighbors to give us a call. | |
