Build Your Own Solar Car
Green DayCelebrate "Green Day" at the Fleet with hands-on activities about renewable energy the entire family can take part in. You can build a solar-powered car that you'll be able to take home with you, interact with local scientists, and visit our hands-on exhibition "So WATT! An Illuminating Look at Energy." You can also enter to win 1 free week at one of the Fleet's Green-themed Summer Camps for your child in grades 1 - 6.

Speed Cubing: Rubik's Cube Competition
Rubik's Cube Puzzle pros converge at the Fleet for the 5th Annual San Diego Rubik's Cube Competition. You can enter to compete or watch "Cube Masters" tackle a series of mind-boggling events, including solving the iconic puzzle in less than 30 seconds... or while blindfolded!  Plus, learn how basic mathematical algorithms make solving the puzzle quick and easy.

Visit the Newly Renovated "Kid City"
Kid City "Kid City" recently underwent a week of renovations and now offers entirely new visitor experiences for you and your children age 5 and under! Make plans to visit "Kid City" to check out an all-new interactive "Ball Wall" with multiple moving parts that will inspire awe and excitement. You and your young scientist will love exploring different objects up close with the "Scope on a Rope," or take a ride to the grocery store in the all new delivery vehicle!  "Kid City" is open daily.

Eagle Nebula The reviews for our new IMAX film are in and we're not the only ones who are starstruck! Register for Summer Camps
Summer Camp The Fleet runs weekly, half-day summer camps from June 28 through August 27. Camps are for grades 1 - 2 and 3 - 4, with additional camps for pre-kindergarten and Grades 5 - 8 on selected weeks. All camps incorporate the Fleet's exhibit galleries and are designed to be educational, hands-on and fun. 2010 camp topics include: "Backyard Science," "Superhero Science," "Toy Lab," "Energy Explorers," "Science Safari," "Survivor Science," "Astronaut Camp," "Robotics Garage" and much more!

Registration Fees:

$80 members; $90 non-members, weekly.

Palomar Observatory Tours
Palomar Observatory Spend an evening with one of the largest and most famous telescopes in the world! See the historic 200-inch Hale telescope, hear an astronomy guest speaker, and spend an evening stargazing under the night sky atop Palomar Mountain.
