They're all part of the biggest, grossest exhibition we've ever hosted here at the Fleet and it opens this weekend"ANIMAL GROSSOLOGY" features 16 hands-on exhibits that offer visitors a larger-than-life look at nature's blood-sucking, vomit-munching, slime-making and dookie-loving creatures.

This Month's Experiment: Animal Blubber
This Month's Experiment - Animal Blubber

Marine mammals like dolphins, whales and polar bears rely on a thick layer of blubber to regulate their body temperature in cold water. In this month's experiment, you'll use items found in an ordinary kitchen to simulate that important layer of fat and feel how well it protects against icy waters.

Featured Product of the Month
OwlOwls have fascinated people throughout the ages, as hunters of the night that find dinner in complete darkness. Ever wonder what that hooting owl just had for dinner? Now you can find out! To celebrate the opening of "ANIMAL GROSSOLOGY," we're selling actual Owl Pellets (owl puke) in the Science Store! Just unwrap the foil from the sanitized pellet and carefully use the probes provided to dissect the pellet and extract the owl's dinner. Then use the included bone guide to identify what the owl ate.
