Last Month on the First Dome
|
When the Fleet Science Center unveiled the world's first IMAX® Dome Theater & tilted dome planetarium in 1973, audiences were amazed. 105 IMAX films, 100,000 projector hours and 15 million experiences later, the Fleet's Space Theater is ready for an extreme makeover. Starting September 4, 2008, the theater will be dark for major renovations and upgrades, which means you only have one month left to experience an IMAX film or planetarium show on the original dome screen!

Is Someone Watching You? |
Surveillance and Sensors: Who's watching whom?" is the theme of this month's Exploring Ethics program. Advancements in video and sensor technology have enabled a variety of public and private organizations to track our movements and activities. What do we gain in exchange for this loss of privacy, and who decides how much surveillance is too much? RSVPs are requested for this event. DATE: Wednesday, August 6TIME: 5:30 - 7 p.m.COST: Free - no admission required (RSVP requested)
