Christmas Magic: The Cog, The Rocks, Santa's Village

Three of the greatest ingredients of a Christmas memory are a train, Santa Claus and picking out the perfect tree.

This holiday season, visitors to the White Mountains can mix them all together in one weekend trip for a Christmas to remember.

The Mount Washington Cog Railway, The Rocks Estate in Bethlehem and Santa's Village in Jefferson are just a few minutes apart from each other and families looking for Christmas tradition and holiday cheer will find it, beginning on Nov. 19.

The Cog's Santa Trains run at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, concluding Dec. 4 (The Cog also operates during the week without Santa, due to Santa overseeing North Pole operations). Departing the Marshfield Station, the train, joined by Santa Claus himself, climbs halfway up Mount Washington, to Kroflite Kamp, where passengers can get off the train. You will see the sweeping mountain panorama and, Santa will tell you, you are almost at the North Pole.

Advanced reservations are recommended for The Cog's Santa Trains and can be made online at www.TheCog.com or by calling 603-278-5404.

For a full schedule of events at The Rocks Estate, visit www.TheRocks.org and more information about Santa's Village is available at www.SantasVillage.com.
