| CETPA PARTNERS WITH ATLANTA LEGAL AID | | 
CETPA partners with Atlanta Legal Aid

This month CETPA joins forces with Atlanta Legal Aid, Inc. to provide assistance with civil (non-criminal) matters in an affordable, linguistic and culturally appropriate manner for some of our clients who otherwise cannot obtain access to the court system because of poverty, being part of a minority group, elderly, disabled by mental illness or long term diseases, and/or recent immigration.
Clients will be able to see an Atlanta Legal Aid representative on site for help in meeting their basic needs, protecting their homes and safeguarding their families. Areas of assistance include benefits, Consumer protection, Family Law, Education, Housing, Health and Employment.
Atlanta Legal Aid also provides assistance with the following special projects: The Elderly, The Mentally Ill, AIDS, Long Term Care (Ombudsman), and Housing Fraud. We are very excited about this opportunity and extend our gratitude to all who made it happen.

Este mes CETPA une fuerzas con La Asociación de Ayuda Legal para proporcionar ayuda con asuntos civiles legales (no-criminales) de una manera económica, entendida por la cultura Latina y en su propio idioma. Estos servicios ayudarán a algunos de nuestros clientes que de otra manera no podrían obtener acceso al sistema tribunal por causa de la pobreza, por ser parte de una minoría, sean personas de tercera edad, descapacitados por enfermedad mental o por enfermedades de largo plazo, y/o inmigración reciente.
Los clientes podrán ver una representante de La Asociación Legal de Ayuda en las oficinas de CETPA para buscar ayuda de cómo mantener sus necesidades básicas, proteger sus hogares y salvaguardar a sus familias. Las áreas de ayuda incluyen información sobre como aplicar por beneficios gubernamentales, la protección al consumidor, la ley familiar, la educación, la vivienda, la salud y el empleo.
La Asociación de Ayuda Legal también proporciona ayuda con los siguientes proyectos especiales: Para Las Personas Mayores, Los Enfermos de Salud Mental, La SIDA, El Cuidado a Largo Plazo (Ombudsman), y Fraude de Vivienda. | SUCCESS STORY - CLUBHOUSE | |  Another Clubhouse Success Story

We had a fifteen year old boy who refused to come to CETPA for an initial assessment with his mother. His mother was concerned because she not only found out that he was smoking marijuana, but that he had been recently threatened with a gun by two older men while he was walking to his neighborhood gym.
Rick Rodriguez, LCSW, our Treatment Coordinator, asked the young man's mother if she thought her son would be open to having Rick come to their house so that he can speak to him directly. The mother thought he would not agree, but fortunately, he did.
Rick conducted an initial assessment at their house where the boy did admit to smoking marijuana. His mom had also noticed that her son was isolating a great deal since being held up at gun point and did not know what to do. Rick immediately thought our Addictive Disease Clubhouse program and asked the youth and his mother to come and visit the CETPA Clubhouse - a place where recovering kids can relax, hang out, and do their homework. The young man loved it. He is now coming regularly to the Clubhouse and to treatment sessions with our counselors. Another Clubhouse success story.
Un Éxito del Club de CETPA
Tuvimos a un joven de quince años de edad quien no quería venir a CETPA para una evaluación inicial. Su madre estaba muy preocupada porque ella no sólo aprendió que el fumaba marihuana, pero que había sido amenazado con una pistola recientemente por dos hombres mientras andaba en camino a su gimnasio.
Rick Rodríguez, LCSW, nuestro Coordinador de Tratamiento, le preguntó a la madre si ella creía que su hijo estaría disponible a hablar con Rick en su propia casa. De esta manera ellos podrían hablar directamente. La madre pensó que su hijo no lo haría pero afortunadamente cuando le preguntó, el no se negó y aceptó la visita.
Rick realizó una evaluación inicial clínica en su casa, donde el chico confesó que si estaba usando marihuana. Su mamá también había reportado que su hijo se estaba aislando demasiado desde que lo amenazaron. Rick invito al joven y a su madre a visitar el Club de CETPA - un lugar donde los jóvenes que necesitan ayuda y están recibiendo consejería pueden venir a relajarse, a hacer sus tareas, a jugar y a conocer a otros jóvenes que están cambiando sus vidas. El joven quedo muy contento con el Club y el ahora viene regularmente al Club y a las sesiones de tratamiento con nuestros consejeros. Otra historia de éxito del programa de Clubhouse. |
