Greetings!
9,125 days one day at a time.

April 23, 1985 marks the end of what I like to call my dark period. In a way it was my death and my salvation. You see, on that day I suffered my final consequence that helped me end three years of addiction. By the grace of God I was given the opportunity to go into treatment - and treatment worked. Twenty-five years of continuous recovery that could not have been possible without a lot of support. Besides my higher power, the list of people that helped me is way too long for this note. My wife, children, parents, brothers and other family members do need to be acknowledged for their unconditional love and support.
I help others now and thank God every day for releasing me from the bondage of self and for removing all barriers that I may be able to help others and to do His will. That I can continue to help those who through addiction and mental illness have lost their health and freedom and to grant all those who work in this field with patient understanding and persevering love.

El 23 de abril del 1.985 marca el fin de lo que me gusta llamar mi etapa de vida perdida. Esta fecha representa mi muerte y mi salvación. Ese día yo sufrí la consecuencia final que me ayudó a romper mi esclavitud a la adicción. Gracias a Dios se me dio la oportunidad de recibir un tratamiento para la adicción - y el tratamiento funcionó.
Veinticinco años de recuperación continua que no podría haber sido posible sin apoyo. Aparte de mi Dios la lista de personas que me ayudaron muy larga para nombrar en esta nota. Mi esposa, mis hijos, mis padres, mis hermanos y otros miembros de mi familia deben ser reconocidos todo el amor y apoyo incondicional que me han demostrado durante estos años.
Hoy ayudo a otros con problemas similares y le doy gracias a Dios todos los días por haberme librado de la esclavitud de la adicción y por quitar todas las barreras para poder ayudar a otros y para hacer Su voluntad. Para que pueda continuar a ayudar a los que por adicción y enfermedades mentales han perdido su salud y su libertad y para que nos otorgue a todo los que trabajan en este campo de salud mental y adicciones con la un mayor entendimiento de nuestros clientes y un amor que nunca se acaba.

 On behalf of the Prevention Department, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making the Niño Sano Hombre Fuerte and Soy Unica Soy Latina Graduations a big success. From the students to the state officials to the parents, volunteers, organizations and CETPA staff who participated, your help made a big difference.
We are also very proud to announce that the CETPA prevention Programs received a Red Ribbon Week Campaign award for the year 2010 for promoting a drug free life in the state of Georgia. This is the ninth year in a row that we have been honored in this campaign.

En nombre del Departamento de Prevención, me gustaría tomar esta oportunidad para agradecer a todas las personas que participaron en las graduaciones de los programas Niño Sano Hombre Fuerte y Soy Unica Soy Latina, ¡Gracias a su participación estos eventos fueron un éxito rotundo! Gracias a cada estudiante, personal del estado. Padres, voluntarios, organizaciones y personal de CETPA. Su ayuda realmente hizo la diferencia.
Estamos muy orgullosos de anunciarles que el Departamento de Prevención recibió un premio por la Campana de la Cinta Roja en Georgia 2010, por promover una vida libre de drogas, ¡CETPA ha recibido estos premios por nueve años consecutivos!
