Make yourself count!
In March of 2010, census forms will be delivered to every residence in the United States and Puerto Rico. When you receive yours, just answer the 10 short questions and then mail the form back in the postage-paid envelope provided. CETPA has forms in our office that you can just pickup. It is important that all Latinos make themselves count in this census. The data from the census is only requested every ten years. The data from the census helps many communities receive more than 400 billion dollars in federal grants, hospitals, centers that help people find work, schools and so much more.

En marzo de 2010, los formularios del censo seran entregado a cada residencia en los Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico. Cuando usted reciba el suyo, favor de contestar las 10 preguntas cortas y luego mandelo por correo en el sobre pagado. CETPA tiene los formularios en nuestra officina que usted puede recojer. Es importante que nos cuenten a todos los Latinos en este censo. Los datos del censo son solicitados solo cada diez años. Los datos del censo ayudan a muchas comunidades que reciban parte de 400 mil millones de dólares en fondos federales cada año para hospitales, centros de capacitación laboral, escuelas y más

On Saturday, March 13, 2010, 60 boys from our "Niño Sano, Hombre Fuerte!" Prevention Afterschool program and around 500 friends and family members will come together at the Atlanta Silverback Stadium, to enjoy a friendly soccer game between Cary Reynolds Elementary School and Dresden Elementary School. During this event we are going to have the opportunity to observe the kids in action, showing us what they have been learning at CETPA about alcohol, drugs, the Latino Culture, soccer, and techniques to say NO to drugs, smoking and alcohol. Please join us at the Atlanta Silverback Stadium, located at 3200 Atlanta Silverback Way, Atlanta GA 30340.
El sabado, 13 de marzo del 2010 60 niños de nuestros Programa de Prevención "¡Niño Sano Hombre Fuerte!" y alrededor de 500 amigos y miembros de familia, se reunirán en el estadio de los Silverback para disfrutar un partido de fútbol amistoso entre las escuelas elementales de Cary Reynolds y Dresden. Durante este evento nuestros niños demostrarán lo que han aprendido en nuestro programa como herramientas de cómo rechazar a las drogas y el alcohol, como apreciar nuestra cultura, jugar fútbol y mucho más. On Saturday, March 27, 2010 150 girls and over 900 friends and family members will come together at the 9th annual "Soy Unica, Soy Latina" rally and celebration. The girls will demonstrate what they have been learning throughout our Prevention After school Program, about alcohol, drugs, Latino Culture, public speaking skills, drama, dance and techniques to say NO to drugs, smoking and alcohol.This event is free and will be at The Palladium Arena, locate at 6100 Live Oak Pkwy, Norcross, GA 30093.
El sabado, 27 de marzo del 2010 150 niñas acompañadas por 900 amigos y familiares se reunirán para celebrar el noveno rally ¡Soy, Única Soy Latina! Las niñas demostrarán lo que han aprendido en nuestros Programas de Prevención que se llevan a cabo después de la escuela, que incluye temas como el alcohol, drogas, la cultura Latina, hablar en público, drama, baile y el aprender herramientas para poder decir NO a las drogas, a el tabaco, y el alcohol. Este evento es gratis y se llevara a cabo en le Palladium Arena localizado en el 6100 Live Oak Pkwy, Norcorss, GA 30093. |

CETPA holds a succesful Latino underage drinking town hall meeting.
As it was announced the forum was held on Thursday, February 11, 2010, at the Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center of the City of Norcross. We are very pleased to have had an excellent participation of more than 70 people from the Latino community among the youth, parents and community.This was a meeting in which everyone participated by offering their views and perceptions on the subject, also having the opportunity to hear directly from the audience about their personal experiences with their children about underage drinking. We hope to continue to develop initiatives that enable us to connect with our growing community and to both help each other find the way and the best option to target and prevent our youth from getting involved with this issue. Thank you all for making this Town Hall Meeting a reality!
CETPA tiene un exitoso foro público sobre los menores de edad y el alcohol.
Como lo habíamos anunciando el foro se llevo a cabo el día 11 de Febrero, 2010, en el Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center de la Ciudad de Norcross. Estamos muy complacidos de haber contado con la excelente participación de más de 70 personas de nuestra comunidad Latina entre jóvenes padres y comunidad en general. Fue una reunión en la cual todos participaron ofreciendo sus puntos de vista y percepción sobre el tema, además de tener la oportunidad de escuchar directamente de la audiencia sobre sus vivencias personales con sus hijos menores de edad sobre el uso y abuso del alcohol. Esperamos poder continuar desarrollando iniciativas como estas que nos permitan conectarnos cada vez más con nuestra comunidad y a la vez ayudarnos mutuamente para encontrar la vía y la mejor opción de orientar y prevenir a nuestros jóvenes a tiempo sobre esta problemática. Gracias a todos por haber hecho de este foro una realidad! |

A total of 15 Clubhouse members benefited from the service that CETPA provides through the After-School Homework Assistance program in the month of January 2010. Bobby Hokket, our Clubhouse teacher, in combination with online virtual teachers has achieved iCETPA's goal -- many of these children got better school grades and one of them received the honor of being one of the best three students in Gwinnett County.
Un total de 15 miembros del Clubhouse se beneficiaron de la ayuda con las tareas escolares durante el mes de enero de 2010. Bobby Hokett, nuestro profesor, algunas veces con ayuda de profesores virtuales, ha logrado que muchos de estos chicos mejoren su rendimiento académico e incluso uno de ellos fue escogido como uno de los tres mejores estudiantes del Condado de Gwinnett. | |
