  • Provides 14 listening posts on the territory of this synod for synod leadership to hear your thoughts and prayers about the core questions;
  • Leads into two conference assemblies, January - April, where more conversation will happen;
  • Prepares us for the election of a bishop in June;
  • Facilitates continuing conversation through an online blog; and more!

 

The third Listening Post is scheduled for Thursday evening, September 27, at Brickerville United Lutheran Church, Lititz.  The conversation begins at 7:00 PM.

Blessing of Animals Around Our Synod

Calling all two and four-legged Creatures of God (and those with fins and feathers, too!)

  

Join us for the Blessing of the Animals at Trinity Evangelical dog Lutheran Church in Rouzerville, PA, Sunday, September 30, at 3:00 PM.  We'll have a brief worship service and blessing by the Cross Meditation Garden followed by treats for both people and pets.  Animals will also receive a St. Francis medallion.  A free will offering will benefit the Antietam Humane Society.  Trinity is located at 12043 Old Route 16.  For more information, call 717.762.1228.

This region-wide Pet Blessing was conceived as a congregation outreach to invite those unassociated with any faith community.  The event is co-hosted by the Chambersburg Lutheran/Anglican/Roman Catholic (LARC) churches and clergy.  A memorial service for deceased pets follows the event - with families tying ribbons on Trinity's Pet Memorial Tree.  A free PDF format book, "Over a Thousand Occasions to Celebrate and 25 Keys to Success," a Blessing of the Animals how-to manual is available for free download here.  For more information visit the Trinity website or call 717.263.8156.

Agape100 Wells Tour to Stop in Gettysburg

David Scherer (Agape), Rachel Kurtz and Lost & Found, are out on the road this fall as part of a post-Youth Gathering concert tour called The 100 Wells Tour. The tour supports ELCA World Hunger's 100 Wells Challenge, a ministry designed to help dig wells to make potable drinking water available in one hundred villages, where drinking water is scarce.
