Service of Ordination Scheduled for September 7

 

ordinationClipCaitlin Glass will be ordained into the ministry of word and sacrament on Friday, September 7, 2012, at 7:00 PM, at the Lutheran Church of the Abiding Presence, Burke, VA.  Lutheran Church of the Abiding Presence is a congregation of the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod.  Caitlin has been called to serve St. Stephen Lutheran Church, New Kingstown, PA.

 

Bishop B. Penrose Hoover will preach and preside at the rite of ordination.  Bishop Richard Graham of the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod will serve as the presiding minister for the liturgy.  Rostered leaders are invited to vest and process.  The color of the day is red.

A little piece of Germany will come to Harrisburg as the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Saviour hosts its annual GermanFest! The event features authentic German food, free children's games, bake sale, silent auction, the Egerlander German Band, accordion music and the Popcorn Hat Players. Agape100 Wells Tour to Stop in Gettysburg

David Scherer (Agape), Rachel Kurtz and Lost & Found, are out on the road this fall as part of a post-Youth Gathering concert tour called The 100 Wells Tour. The tour supports ELCA World Hunger's 100 Wells Challenge, a ministry designed to help dig wells to make potable drinking water available in one hundred villages, where drinking water is scarce.
