Our deepest sympathy is extended to the family of the Rev. A. J. Domines (Christ, Elizabethtown) and Celia Domines, AiM. Celia's mother, Arlene Billman, died on Saturday, May 26, 2012. Visitation is scheduled for today, May 29, at Hill Funeral Home, Rehersburg, PA, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown, on Wednesday, May 30, at 11:00 AM. Visitation on Wednesday is from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Prayers for healing are requested for the Rev. Peter Kuebler (St. John/Barner's, Liverpool), a patient at Harrisburg Hospital. |
Four Lutheran churches in Mechanicsburg (Trindle Spring, Trinity, St. Mark and St. Peter) have joined together to host Tim Zimmerman and the King's Brass on Tuesday, June 5, at 7:00 p.m. The King's Brass is a nine-person brass ensemble that plays secular and sacred classics with a contemporary flair. The group tours nationally and has been recognized by critics for their excellence in both entertainment and performance. The concert is free but tickets are required. The complimentary tickets can be obtained from Trindle Spring Lutheran Church by calling 717.766.7091 or emailing the church office at [email protected]. The concert will be held at Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, 14 State Road, Mechanicsburg. Light refreshments will be served after the concert. Read more about the Kings' Brass at www.kingsbrass.org.
St. Luke Lutheran Concert Handbell Choir

The Concert Handbell Choir from Gales Ferry, CT, is comprised of high school students playing five octaves of handbells and five octaves of melody chimes. Their repertoire includes a wide variety of sacred, classical, and popular music. The group has traveled widely and has a rich performance history. They have toured England twice, played in the US Coast Guard Band Christmas programs and participated in numerous festivals. The concert is free. A freewill offering will be received. |

A two-day pre-retirement seminar is planned for pastors, rostered laypersons and all employees in the ELCA Pension and Other Benefits Program. In this seminar you will explore issues that form the foundation of a healthy retirement and learn how your financial decisions can help you achieve your retirement goals. Persons who are within 15 years of retirement are invited to attend.

Summer Schedule
Beginning the week of June 4, a summer schedule of office hours will go into effect for our synod's offices and Resource Center. Those hours will be 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The office will be closed on Friday during the summer. In the event of an emergency situation occurring on a Friday, the telephone message will direct you to a member of the pastoral staff who is serving on call that day. This summer schedule will conclude on Friday, August 31. The Monday through Friday schedule will resume the following week. |
