Allegro recently ran a story about a member whose music book had been stolen using a popular file sharing site. We received good feedback about this story. The union's position is that illegal file sharing is stealing. We'd like to hear your own stories about how pirating has affected your livelihood as a musician. Please click here to give us your thoughts.

Since 1984, the VSA International Young Soloists Program has been seeking to identify talented musicians who have a disability. The VSA International Young Soloists Award is given annually to up to four outstanding musicians, two from the United States and two from the international arena. The award provides an opportunity for these emerging musicians to each earn a $5,000 award, professional development opportunities, and a performance at the John F. GIVE THE GIFT
OF LOVE
This fall and winter, there are plenty of folks who need food -- and also toys to give to their kids for the holidays. Local 802 is collecting both.
Here's what's needed: canned fruit, canned vegetables, peanut butter in plastic jars, packages of mac and cheese, large boxes of hot and cold cereal (family sized, if possible), and any new toys and clothes.
We give all donations to City Harvest and the Federation of Protestant Welfare Charities.
Bring your donations to Kimeo Lee on the third floor of the union building or look for a box in the Club Room.
For more info, call (212) 245-4802, ext. 142 or click here. | |
