Next Tuesday, February 3, we are taking a charter bus to Albany to lobby our legislators to save the NYSCA budget from a 20% cut!.
The Governor proposes an additional $7 million cut to NYSCA funds that have not yet been awarded bringing the NYSCA budget down to $38.9 million . . .a total reduction of 20% from $48.5 million at the start of the current fiscal year.
We are departing from 802 Tuesday morning at 8:30 AM. Coffee, juice and bagels starting at 8:00 AM. We are partnering with NYS ARTS, who have generously offered to share a room they've reserved in the Legislative Office Building for this endeavor. Some of their supporters will accompany us on our trip. Sandwiches and drinks will be provided in the afternoon. We will leave Albany at 4:30 PM. If you live north of the city and can get to Albany - call Paul Molloy to coordinate.
We have will brochures, talking points and tips on lobbying available to all. We'll go over everything on the bus so that everyone is comfortable with the language and the strategy.
It's a 55 seat bus, so if you're interested and available, just click reply or contact Paul Molloy at 212-245-4802 ext. 176 or by e-mail at pmolloy@local802afm.org to reserve your spot.
