"After decades no more gas in downtown."
"Tropical Sno owners buy service station."
"Village of Pewaukee - For decades gasoline has been pumped at 221 W. Wisconsin Ave., but that all came to an end late last year.

 | Cathy Zmudzinski Board Director - 2 terms. |
I have worked at Waukesha State Bank managing the Pewaukee branch for ten years. Although I did not live in Pewaukee, I was involved with the community thru my customers, the Chamber, the Pewaukee Library Foundation and various other organizations and activities.
Pewaukee is a great community - both the people and the businesses!
I have spent the last 6 years as a Board member with the Pewaukee Chamber of Commerce. During this time I have seen a lot of challenges and changes. I think that the Chamber is in a great position - moving in the right direction. In my opinion, this is completely due to the hard work and positive energy exerted by Kathy Eckhardt, our Executive Director.
As I move forward starting my own business - At Home Caring Angels, LLC, a non-medical companion care service for all ages - I will take and utilize many of the ideas I have learned to make it successful.
I certainly will miss everyone and I wish you all continued success!

"Leading Generation Y"
Speaker:
Aleta Norris
Principal and Co-Founder
"Living as a Leader"
Description: Generation Y is here...and they are challenging just about every professional protocol the Baby Boomers have spent 30 years solidifying! Or so it seems to many. Baby Boomers have lived to work. The Gen Xers who followed worked to live. And, you know it... the Gen Yers want to work the way they want to work! Join us for this session to gain some perspective. Are all of the labels true? Sense of entitlement, lazy, no loyalty, requiring coddling. Maybe not. Effective leaders are unleashing the powerful contribution these young "up and comers" are eager to make. This issue is as much an issue of leadership as it is an issue of a generation.

"Give to Get"
|
| |
 | |
It works both ways. You must "give to get". Share with the rest of the chamber your testimonial, encouraging members to support each other
|
We are looking for Chamber Members who are interested in keeping this column going. businessXchange means supporting each other, giving referrals and telling us when you do business with a chamber member and how it turned out.
Did you catch the picture of Dr. Mandy Pearce, Pewaukee Family Chiropractic, sitting on Santa's lap in the Freeman's January Lake Country This Month?
"Jack Stratmeyer of Conley Publication. Jack was a tremendous help to me when he suggested I redirect an advertising campaign. He suggested a new location for the ad and reformatted it to fit a smaller space. Naturally, the smaller space cost less so I ran the ad longer for the same price. Thanks to Jack, the campaign was an overwhelming success!" - Sandy Raasch, American Republic Insurance
"I'd like to send a Big Thank you to Christina Dollins of Lakeview Insurance for a referral that turned into business. I got a double bonus when the referral sent me to two others who were looking for health insurance. And it is good to know that I can confidently return the complement by sending Properly and Casualty business to a person like Christina who I know will take good care of them." - Sandy Raasch, American Republic Insurance
"I'd also like to thank Greg Nichols of Cartridge World. Greg helped me select a quality laser printer that is much more economic to use than my ink jet. And that means about ½ of the visits to Cartridge World each year." - Sandy Raasch, American Republic Insurance
"I would like to thank Mike and Debbie Dempsey from Shamrock Inspections for allowing me to insure their rental property. They were a joy to work with and I look forward to a long term relationship!" - Christina Dollins, Lakeview Insurance
"I would like to Thank Lake Country Travel for helping with my Honeymoon and helping me to decide where to stay and what to do! They are also great to work with!"- Christina Dollins, Lakeview Insurance
"Thank you to North Shore Bank for allowing me to use their services when needing a Nortary Pattie and Kathy are always a joy to work with and see!" - Christina Dollins, Lakeview Insurance
"I recently shopped at Elliot's Ace Hardware for a some tools and gadgets. I didn't know exactly what I needed or where to find it (I am pretty high maintenance in a hardware store). With the help and patience of the staff I located and purchased everything on my list! Thank you Elliots!" - Patricia Maynard CPA, Maynard & Belt
We just got all new printer cartridges from Cartridge World. - Dr. Mandy Pearce, Pewaukee Family Chiropractic
We had a nice dinner this week at Casa Tequilla. Always great service and delicious food! - Dr. Mandy Pearce, Pewaukee Family Chiropractic
I'd like to thank Neil Wojtal of the Zimmerman & Steber Legal Group for his very knowledgeable answers to my legal questions. If anyone has legal questions about their businesses, Neil is the person to go to. - Kathy Oleinik, Neighborhood Welcome

| |
We thank the following Chamber Members for their outstanding support of the Pewaukee Chamber of Commerce. If you click on their name you can send them a personal note of thanks as well. After all, they are working hard to make YOUR CHAMBER WORK FOR YOU!
Conrad Tausend, Goff's Auto Body, in the true spirit of ambassadorship visited 10 chamber businesses we have not seen at an event in the past year, met with them, explained the value of "give to get" and had a great time doing it and he said met some really neat people in the process. In the picture he shows off business cards he collected from those he visited. Say "thank you" to Conrad when you see him at our Feb. 3 Academy Award Gala!

Business Day in Madison 2012
| | |
Business Day in Madison has become THE premiere business gathering, and all of you have helped make that happen. This year, America will decide if we stay the course or go a new direction. Dominating the landscape will be the economy, the price of energy and the elections - the three E's of America's future. Business leaders will have an opportunity to shape the debate that will forge the consensus that will chart the course for our nation. The program will bring its usual cadre of top-notch speakers, including:
- Elections: Frank Luntz - What is really on the mind of America?
- Economy: Todd Buchholz - The economy in the age of Obama
- Energy: Robert Bryce - 5 reasons to be optimistic about future energy and power supplies
In addition, we've invited Governor Walker to join us as our special guest.
There will be a welcome reception the evening prior to Business Day, where we have invited the U.S. Senate candidates and department secretaries, to join us.
