T'is the Season for Fun!

Tip of the Month

Surviving The Holidays!!!

This Wise Women Tip is how to not only Survive the Holidays but enjoy every minute
of it and hop, skip and a jump with ease into 2011!

Drink Water
No matter how delicious the eggnog or how perfect the Cabernet - alternate with water! We have all read this but rarely actually do it. But it really is the key to those long holiday parties especially when back to back!

Plan Your Outfits
There is nothing quite like the frustration of trying to get ready for a party, the clock is ticking and you have nothing to wear. Maybe it's your mood or last night's eggnog but for some reason you can't find anything that works (or fits like it should). For this, you always need a back up of outfits that are simple and always fit. Mine is a black simple sweater dress that always looks great with different accessories so I can focus on the fun of the company and not my waist band digging in!

Gift Certificates
No time for shopping or homemade gifts this year? GCs are an excellent time saver and a real crowd pleaser. I used to think they were impersonal until I received a $25 GC to a local department store one year. It was fantastic! In January, when items were even further discounted, I picked up some fun accessories at 50% off! You can get them for almost everything these days. Have a friend who is a devout foodie? Restaurants GCs are a great gift of experiencing something delicious!!

Keep the Work Out Routine
While burning the candle at both ends we cut corners to save time and the easiest to get rid of is that gym routine. We are rushed so we figure it's an easy time saver but it is the best way to keep your mind, body and soul on solid ground through this busy time. I was watching the Today Show and a 'guestpert' doctor said, even if you only have 15 minutes - do it! It's better then nothing, she said. Well, if 15 minutes is doctor approved, I know I can at least do 20 and feel really good about myself!

Resist the Post-Feast Slumber
After that delicious big meal, resist the calling of the couch. Moving after your meal will help with digestion and keep you energized instead of that sluggish feeling. Go for a winter walk around the neighborhood or turn on some tunes and cut a rug. It's not only fun but a great way to get some extra activity in while you are indulging in your favorite holiday goodies!
