Tip of the Month
Get Organized and Improve Your Time Management Skills! As you have probably noticed, I have fallen quite a bit behind on the regular UGG Wise Women Newsletter so I figure this Tip of the Month should be something I really need!
There are so
many more tips and tricks out there but the following seem to be the most simple,
straight forward and not too technical.
Keeping it simple keeps it possible for me, otherwise this might turn
into the Fall Edition of Wise Women Tips!
Realizing That Time Management Is A Myth Now following this one too closely may be my number one excuse and not my number one solution but what it advises is that we only have 24 hours in the day. We can't create time, just make the most of it. With that said, here's how I plan to!
Identify Where You Are Wasting Time As I reflect on where that might be, a big time waster for me may be that I have subscribed to too many industry reports and every morning when I start work I find myself deleting more than what I am finding any value in. It's time to streamline the information. I need to keep up to date as well as ahead of the curve without losing my morning sifting through them. What's yours? Net surfing, Facebooking or being inundated with emails rather than completing tasks? I have found shutting down my inbox while working on certain tasks really gets the job done.
Clean, Organize And Purge Your Desk "I swear, it was right here!" Every couple of weeks I find myself looking for the top of my desk under scribblers, mail, notes, projects in the works and so on. The best hour or two I can spend, though I must ward off guilt for not spending it on actual work, is clearing off my desk and putting everything in it's place. So after the purge and re-org, it's smooth sailing over here. And I have to say, a once over with glass cleaner and the sparkly shine from my desk gets those juices flowing again..
Make A List And Check It Twice There's nothing more satisfying than checking things off your "to do" list! As things come up, I add to my list and as things are completed I check them off. I have read that you are supposed to make a new list every night but I like to do it every morning. This way, every morning I go over everything and prioritize my day. At the end of the day, I make sure I covered all my priorities and checked off what I have done. The next morning, I see all my check marks, smile at a job well done and write a new list. My problem is, I need to keep ONE list. The best way for me to miss something (and let's admit it, fall behind on the Wise Women UGG Newsletter) is to have too many lists. I always try and make an effort (much like the purging of the desk) to consolidate any stray notes that are making a run for it and trying to become their own to-do list.
Happy Organizing and Time Management to all and if you have any great tips you would like to share, please send my way and I will put them in the next Wise Women Newsletter!

This Mid Summer Month's Recipe Chimichurri
Garden season has arrived and no better way to celebrate with my utmost favorite and easy recipe from the garden! Ok, I know I have done this recipe before but it's so delicious
it worth repeating! Even writing about it makes my mouth water.
I use Chimichuri on basically anything. I pour it over my meat dishes, I dip my bread into it and slop up the final bits with my fingers. I love it so much I may even try it on ice cream...
This recipe is simple and just be prepared to
chop and chop and chop until you can't shop anymore. And feel free to mix it up any way you like. The key is, lots of parley and any other herb that strikes your fancy. I am not too sure how mint would work but heck, why not... perhaps with a Riesling? Below is how I usually make it, plus or minus a few bunches of each, depending on whats thriving in the garden each week.
Ingredients 1 1/2 cup loosely packed parley 1/2 cup loosely packed basil 1/4 cup loosely packed oregano 1/4 cup loosely packed
cilantro 1/4 cup loosely packed
chives 2 cloves garlic 2 cups olive oil salt and pepper to taste
Procedure
1. Wash and dry all herbs and chop finely.
2. Keep chopping until its chopped until you can't chop any longer and add to bowl.
3. Crush garlic cloves and flatten with the side of a knife and then finely chop as much as possible and add to bowl.
4. Add olive oil, mix in herbs thoroughly and then salt and pepper to taste.
5. Dip your bread into it, pour it over your meats, use as a salad dressing.
*My favorite is to mix up Tomato and Bocconni with chimichurri and add a balsamic vinegar to taste.
Serves 6 but if I am around... it may only serve 4 ;)
I hope you enjoy this delicious recipe as much as I do.
