"800 Years of East European Jewry"
 
Professor Donald Schwartz (member of the history department at CSULB since 1987) will speak on "800 Years of East European Jewry". This presentation will survey the history and distinctive life of East European Jewry. Jewish life today is centered in Israel and America, 600 years ago the center was Spain. But from the 16th century to the Holocaust, the world's largest Jewish community resided in Eastern Europe.
