The Jewish Federation of Greater Long Beach is a member agency of JPAC-California and supports its efforts to combat Anti-Semitism at the University of California-Berkley.

On March 17th, the University of California Berkeley Student Senate passed a resolution that the University should divest itself of any companies in which it owns stock that do business with Israel. The Student Senate accused Israel of war crimes and is attacking companies that support Israel. The resolution targets over $130m invested in companies that supply jobs, parts and electronics to Israel.

On March 24th, the Student Body President of UC Berkeley vetoed the bill. The President called the resolution: "a symbolic attack on a specific community" that is "being used as a tool to delegitimize Israe
l."

The Student Senate plans to override the veto on April 14th.

Help us to stop this attack on Israel.

Visit www.CalSupportsIsrael.com so you can email the Student Senate to tell them their resolution was inaccurate and unjust and to urge them to uphold the President's veto. Encourage your friends to do the same.
