News From GBTA
The 2012 Chapter Challenge has begun. For those members who are not familiar with NBTA PAC and the GBTA Chapter Challenge, please click here.Part of the GBTA Chapter Challenge is for local chapter members to send an email to their Representatives on issues that GBTA is supporting. One important issue are reforms that will improve the efficiency of the U.S. visa system. In September, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved the Fiscal Year 2012 State Department funding bill (S. 1601), which includes reforms. Now, both the full House and Senate must approve this bill before it becomes law. Congress is negotiating the final FY2012 federal government funding bills.
To ensure these reforms are included in the final package we need you to email your Representative and Senators. It will only take a minute or so. |

Several members have asked if it is possible to renew their 2012 Memberships in December. The answer is YES. If you renew now, your 2012 membership will be effective from January 1 - December 31, 2012.
Cost of Dues: Allied Members: $295
Direct Members: $195
Optional: Prepay Meetings for January 1 - December 31, 2012
Cost: $375
GeorgiaBTA appreciates prepayment of meetings and extends a substantial discount for those selecting this option. The Prepaid price, available through January 2012, is a $55 discount from the normal cost of the meetings!
The price includes 11 Monthly Meetings, plus admission to the Annual Professional Development Fundraiser...An Auction Event. It does not include Education Events or Workshops.
