SAFE Booth
SAFE is cooking up exciting things for the 2008 annual meeting of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA), the nation's most prestigious archaeology conference and the perfect venue from which to spread our message. We had such great success at the 2005 AIA annual conference in Boston, we decided to do it again this year, in Chicago. However, we need your support to make it all happen! Read on to find out what's in the works, and how you can help us bring our plans to life.

Sincerely,
SAFE Beacon Awards Committee

SAFE Beacon Awards
Neil Brodie and Donny George
Join us for an evening of food and festivity, as we honor Dr. Neil Brodie and Dr. Donny George Youkhanna with the 2008 SAFE Beacon Awards. Our Beacon Awards honor those who have shown outstanding effort in raising public awareness about looted antiquities. Our first Beacon Awards were given out last November to Peter Watson, Roger Atwood and Matthew Bogdanos.

This year, the award presentation will include a special talk by Dr. Brodie himself. Though the awards will be presented during the AIA conference, attendance at the conference is not required to come to this special event, so feel free to invite your friends!

SAFE Tour with Donny George
Oriental Institute Museum
Dr. Donny George Youkhanna, renowned scholar and 2008 Beacon Award recipient, will give two guided tours of Chicago's famed Oriental Institute Museum. The Museum's collection of Iraqi artifacts is remarkable not just for its scope and quality, but for the legal and ethical way in which almost all of it was collected. You won't want to miss this unique behind-the-scenes look at these incredible artifacts.

SAFE Booth at the AIA Meeting

SAFE had such great success at the 2005 AIA annual conference in Boston, and it'll only be bigger and better in the Windy City! Conference attendees can stop by our booth, where we'll be having special talks, video screenings, and other activities. And of course, we'll get to know our loyal
members and sign up new ones.

If you'll be in Chicago for the conference, why not lend us a hand at the booth? Contact us to find out how!

Hyatt Regency Chicago Help us get to Chicago!

SAFE is planning to make a big splash in Chicago, but we need your help to make all of these exciting events happen! It's very expensive to rent a booth and host these events, especially for a relatively new organization like us, but we feel strongly that it will be worth it. That's why we're asking you, our supporters, if you care about SAFE's mission and want to see us spread our message at this important event, to please donate to our special Chicago fund. While we have raised a great deal already, we still have many costs that need to be covered, and even a small donation will help defray the cost and be greatly appreciated.

You can give safely and easily through Paypal or check. And if you can't make a donation at this time, won't you help us by volunteering?
