NEW! Cultural Heritage in Danger blog launched

SAFE blogSAFE is proud to announce the launch of our new community blog, SAFECORNER. Articles are posted by members of the SAFE community and other experts and opinion leaders in the field of cultural heritage protection, covering a wide range of topics, such as the outlook on the fight against antiquities theft, the American government's stance on antiquities, and the US-Cyprus bilateral agreement (and why it's a big deal!). Be sure to check it out, and leave comments if you like.

Fall SAFE Tour at the Met

Greek and Roman Gallery at the Met Calyx-krater Monteleone chariot

SAFE Member Dr. Senta German will guide a group through the New Greek and Roman Galleries at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art at noon, September 29. This tour of Hellenistic, Etruscan, and Roman objects in the recently reconstructed and reinstalled galleries will include the "centerpiece of the new installation"--the Leon Levy and Shelby White Court, named after the preeminent New York collectors of antiquities. Dr. German will discuss the importance of the collections as well as the new trends in museum display exemplified in these beautiful galleries.

Don't miss this first SAFE tour of the season.

You can maximize your contribution to SAFE in more ways than you realize, and even double your contribution! Some companies will match employee monetary contributions to non-profit organizations with the completion of a simple form turned in to the Human Resources Department. Alternately, some companies will make a monetary donation to a non-profit on the behalf of an employee. The donation is a match of a specific number of volunteer hours that the employee completed for that organization, such as a $200 donation per 40 volunteer hours. Check your Employee Handbook or contact your HR Department to find out if your company participates in volunteer-matching programs!

Last but not least, check out the SAFE Facebook page and meet some members of our fast-growing community. Join us.
