Happy Spring La Entrada Families!
It is hard to imagine that we are in our final two months of school! Where has the time gone? We sure hope everyone has a wonderful Spring Break and comes back to school excited to finish the year well.
We encourage everyone to come to our General PTA Meeting on Wednesday, April 11 from 9:15-11:15. We will have an opportunity to hear more about Project Cornerstone with special guest speaker, Ms. Soma McCandless, who will share with us more about this organization's commitment to "helping all children and teens in Silicon Valley feel valued, respected and known."
This presentation will focus on research that has been done in the area of "Developmental Assets" and the survey that our students will be given this spring. They have determined 40 things that have been proven to help kids thrive and avoid risk- taking behaviors. La Entrada plans to give our students a survey to collect data on which of these 40 things our kids feel are going well and which need some work. You won't want to miss this presentation so that you will have a better understanding of this program and how you can support the efforts of the school!
We will also be electing our new PTA Board for the 2012-2013 school year!
We are so excited about our end of the year Volunteer and Staff Appreciation event this year so save the date for Wednesday, May 30 at 3:30. We are looking for a few volunteers to help Patricia Sullivan and Susy Politi in preparing for this. We would also love to have any photos that you may have of parent volunteers "in action" at school. If you are interested in helping out or have any photos, please contact us at president@laentradapta.org.
Happy Spring!
