Happy February, La Entrada Families!  We hope the second half of the school year is off to a great start!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the following volunteers who, like so many in our district, help provide enriching opportunities for our students week after week.

Thank you Diana Sunshine and Bardia Pereshki, and your super team of volunteers, for organizing and leading the exceptional Science Fair for our students last month. Over 130 budding young scientists asked great questions, used their imaginations and critical thinking skills to present 81 projects. We hope this fun and rewarding experience will inspire even more students to participate next year.

Thank you Carla Sakrison, for coordinating our invaluable Room Parent program. Please also extend a warm thank you to your child's Room Parent for all the great work they are doing for our teachers and children as well.

Thank you, Katie Boland, for initiating and launching our new Dads at Recess lunch program, to be held once a month on Fridays. The first Dads at Recess last Friday was tons of fun! If any dads (or uncles, grandfathers or big brothers, etc.) missed the first opportunity to participate this past Friday, there are more chances to bring your lunch, eat with your child, and enjoy interactive time with our La Entrada students. Upcoming Dads at Recess programs will be held on Friday 3/2, 4/6, and 5/4. No pressure, just fun! If you'd like an email reminder, click here

Thank you, Dana Nunn and Gloria Falcinelli, for running our lunchtime enrichment program this year! Our students have had the opportunity to participate in the ever-popular programs Around the World, Spy Technology, Book Club, and Youth Action Council.

Thank you, Michelle Barovich, for managing our Tutoring Center! Additional parent volunteers are still needed on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. If you can help support this ongoing volunteer opportunity, please email Michelle at mkmchapman@msn.com.

We are so grateful for the time you all give to our school community! Thank you!

Lastly, we would like to extend a warm invitation to you all to attend our General PTA Meeting this Wednesday, February 8, at 9:15am in the MUR. Please join us for coffee, delicious treats, and an opportunity to connect with other parents. Our special guests, Eric Hartwig and Ann Jaquith, will present the new Strategic Plan that will be guiding our children's education in the coming years. Mark your calendars now!
