Over 50,000 spectators watched Charlotte's Thirteenth Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade as it marched through the heart of Charlotte to the sound of pipes and the cheers of the spectators lining the streets. The combination of flags, floats, kids, and pipe band music made everyone smile and be Irish for a day. The Fourteenth Annual Parade promises to be even bigger and better! The parade will step off at 11:00 A.M. at Tryon and 9th street in uptown Charlotte. The parade will march South to Tryon St. and 3rd. Street.  Parade emcee this year will be K-104.7 radio personalities Brandon Chase & Katie Hall.  The 2010 Charlotte Goes Green  Festival will be our biggest and most attended yet. There will be something for everyone from 6 to 60 to enjoy. The festival hours are 10AM - 6:30PM and it will feature Irish music, Irish dancers, bagpipers, food, vendors and plenty of beverages. There is no admission fee, it's all Free!
When: Saturday, March 13th, 2010 -  10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

evolutionEvolution: Five Decades of Printmaking by David C. Driskell highlights for the first time the prints of the renowned Distinguished University of Maryland Professor Emeritus of Art, David C. Driskell, an international Artist, Art Historian, Collector, Curator, Educator, and one of the most recognized and respected names in the world of African American art and culture. Since 1977, Professor Driskell has served as cultural advisor to Camille O. and William H. Cosby and as the curator of the Cosby Collection of Fine Arts. In 2000, in a White House Ceremony, Professor Driskell received the National Humanities Medal from President Bill Clinton . In 2007, he was elected as a National Academician by the National Academy. Professor Driskell will conduct a slide/lecture presentation in the Gantt Center multipurpose room. There will be a book signing immediately following the presentation.
