New lineup of topics highlights Fidelity Investments board development program
The Fidelity Investments Board Development Program is back this fall with a new lineup of topics! We invite board members of nonprofit organizations to take advantage of these unique learning experiences.
Boards 101 - September 21 Boards 101 provides an overview of the basic roles of boards, with particular emphasis on legal and fiduciary responsibilities. Participants will review the basic documents boards should have in place and learn about policies and practices they can utilize to ensure the legal and fiscal health of the organization.
Fundraising Responsibilities - October 21Too many nonprofits have spent too much time agonizing about board fundraising. In this session, you will cut through the "ought to do" to build a team of willing fundraising volunteers - when and if you need them.
Board Engagement - November 18 For any board to remain effective in its stewardship, it is essential that its members are active and engaged; yet not all board members bring the same level of passion to their work. In this workshop, methods for maintaining strong board member involvement and engagement will be presented.
Intentional Board Diversity - December 7 Most nonprofits seek board members who represent the constituency they serve yet lack board diversity in terms of race, age, gender, socioeconomic status, and skills. In this workshop, we will present strategies to help nonprofit boards attract and retain a diverse membership. All sessions will be held at Fidelity Investments' campus at 500 Salem Street in Smithfield.
Please note that this program is intended for board members; executive directors are welcome to attend with at least one board member from their organizations.

Keeping your donors: Building profitable relationships that last
Donor retention is an all too common challenge for nonprofit organizations. This September 21 workshop is designed for organizations with a development officer, executive director, and at least one board member who can attend together.
This is not an entry-level workshop. It is intended for organizations that already have an individual giving program. In this seminar, you can expect to learn specific strategies and tactics to improve your donor-centered quotient and what it takes to nurture relationships that build donor loyalty.
Our presenter for this workshop is Simone Joyaux, ACFRE. Read more about Simone. After the workshop, an organization can decide if it wishes to pursue a personalized coaching session with Simone.
