Carol Golden named Outstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year
The Rhode Island Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP-RI) today named Carol Golden, executive vice president & chief development officer at The Rhode Island Foundation, as its Outstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year.
In a joint nomination, Gayle Gifford, Andrea Joseph, and Simone Joyaux, all development professionals, noted, "We believe that Carol is most deserving of this recognition for her lifelong dedication to philanthropy and to supporting the efforts of Rhode Island's nonprofit sector through her effective leadership throughout her career and at the Foundation in particular."
Joyaux, who with her husband has a permanent endowment at the Foundation, further notes, "Carol demonstrates good donor-centrism - what good fund development is all about. She asks questions and listens and absorbs what the donor is saying and trying to say. She honors the donor's interests and feelings. She gives advice that's good for the donor.
"Carol goes the extra mile. For her, philanthropy is a true commitment," Joyaux shares.
On behalf of AFP-RI, board member Doreen Tucker adds, "AFP-RI is honored to award Carol Golden with this year's Outstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year award for her commitment to philanthropy in our community and her outstanding contributions to the fundraising profession during the course of her career."
