National News

Dear Members and Partners,

The staff and Board of the Georgia Alliance To End Homelessness (GAEH) want to express our sincerest thanks and admiration to those who continue to work tirelessly to assist the homeless and at-risk persons of our state. We understand that it is most difficult in these tough economic times to deliver quality services when  the demand far exceeds the supply. We would like to help your organization take advantage of our GAEH's  Statewide Homeless Provider Crisis Network. We are committed to helping  you and your organization continue to serve our vulnerable citizens. Please take a few moments to share your needs and concerns with us so that we will be able to effectively advocate on your behalf. Your input is extremely important and key to us being able to paint a clear picture of needs.

Sincerely,

Katheryn

Urgent: Developing a Picture of Need in Georgia

In  2009 the Georgia Alliance To End Homelessness (GAEH) launched the Georgia Statewide Homeless Provider Crisis Network. At that time we were extremely concerned that emerging policy and programming resources would cause a significant number of Georgia's homeless and at-risk population to  be underserved. It was important that we formed an inclusive statewide network and be successful and present credible data and information to the decision makers in a collaborative manner. Through the network, GAEH and our partners were be able to collect and distribute critical resource information, share information on unmet needs and issues across the homeless service provider community and notify our partners of special opportunities, trainings, conferences and meetings. All service providers were urged to complete a brief survey that provided  the planning information necessary to give a statewide picture of the resources needed to support organizational capacity during turbulent times.

We now find ourselves in a serious situation across the state as resources  become scarce and demand is far exceeding supply for many of our service organizations. We would like to take this opportunity to again request information about your organizations operating needs and demand for supplies as well as your staffing and volunteer needs. By sharing this information with our crisis network of over 2500 service providers, corporations, individuals and state agencies we can collaboratively identify and address service gaps.

Please take a moment to share your urgent needs with us so that we may construct an online bulletin linked to the Georgia Alliance to End Homelessness website.
