|
Greetings!
Today's email newsletter is mostly news, all of it good. Next week, we'll offer an exquisite selection of books and other gift ideas.
First, we've completely redesigned our website and added many features. The biggest change is that you can now buy eBooks from Green Apple in many formats. See below for details and please check out our new and improved site. Also, starting Friday, we're having a big sale on new CDs and DVDs (20% to 50% off), so if you have music or movie lovers on your list, come in soon for the best selection.
We have three author events this month detailed below and our Book of the Month is profiled today, too. And I couldn't help but tout our selection of boxed holiday cards and our 2010 calendars--the selection really is fine.
And our blog thrives on. Check it out, or follow us (very occasionally) on Twitter. Thanks, as always, for reading. --Pete et al. |

December's Book of the Month
Each month, Green Apple presents a Book of the Month, a brand-new book that we're so crazy about, we passionately guarantee it 100%.
December's selection is Bicycle Diaries by David Byrne.
Here's Jenn's "shelf-talker":
"Bicycle Diaries is a modern book--a hybrid of humor, politics, travel
narrative, philosophy, art, design, and music. Byrne makes a collage of
his collected thoughts from the seat of a bicycle in Berlin, Istanbul,
Buenos Aires, Manila, Sydney, London, San Francisco, New York, and
other American cities. The artist's recognizable voice really does
carry through in his writing. It reads like any of his songs,
interestingly paced and full of quirky insights.
San Francisco is
championed for our progressive bicycle attitude, seen from an
outsider's perspective, with plenty of questionable sweeping statements
that may cause some general discomfort. If this book isn't perfectly
educational, it is certainly entertaining and motivating. It gets those
wheels turning, so to speak.
--Jenn Witte
And this book is guaranteed 100%. You'll love it or we'll give you your money back. And apologize.

With no less love for the book in its printed form, we announce that Green Apple now sells eBooks. To read our handwringing story and the status of eBooks these days, or to browse them, click here.
Also, our website has been completely redesigned. Please check it out and send us any feedback, suggestions, etc. Heck, you could even buy something: books, gift cards, Green Apple shirts, etc.
We have teamed up with a national book distributor to greatly increase our online selection. So beyond the 30,000 or so new books we have on our shelves, there's another 250,000 or so new books you can order from us that will ship immediately from our distributor.
Added features include the ability to buy something online and pick it up in-store, see our real-time in-store new book inventory, and more. Again, please let us know if you have any suggestions or other feedback. |
