We are thrilled to present you with an opportunity to meet a gem of a local author, Dave Eggers.

His first book, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius is a perennial best-seller at Green Apple.  His newest book, Zeitoun, is equally important, if completely different.  It is a masterful work of journalism that reads like a page-turner of a novel.

Publisher's Weekly reviewed Zeitoun quite well.  And a pretty impressive review will grace the cover of this Sunday's New York Times Book Review.  I can't link to it or quote it yet, but it's pretty convincing.  And my wife just finished Zeitoun, staying up all hours, compelled to push through sleepiness to the end.  She assures me it is the next book I have to read.

Mr. Eggers is also one of the most generous and humble authors I have had the pleasure to meet.  Just a real stand-up guy.  I hope you can join us.

If not, you can pre-order signed or inscribed copies for you (or for loved ones--what a great gift).  Just call the store to arrange that.  (415) 387-2272.
