Dear (Contact First Name),

Tax Deadline

Remember ...the next corporate tax deadline is September 15. Here's a tip to simplify your filing and avoid any last minute rush to find an important document. Give yourself an imaginary deadline the month before the actual deadline. Tell yourself that you need your paperwork in to us by August 15--including the one final document that you know you always have to scurry to find --and see how stress free the rest of your summer is. You'll even be able to enjoy Labor Day while other business owners are just starting to stress out thinking about the approaching September 15 deadline. Let us know how we can be a resource for you. We always look forward to hearing from you.

Weltman Bernfield 2012 Internship Program

Besides preparing for the next tax deadline, summer is also the time for internships! This year we have combined with four other CPA firms to offer an eight week internship program. Eight college students are getting an in-depth immersion in the accounting field by learning QuickBooks and getting hands-on experience. Visit our website to read one of the articles about the program and view the photos from the Orientation Day.

Have a great summer!

Someone You
Should Know

Jeff Kray, CPA

Jeff Kray, CPA

Jeff Kray has been a member at Weltman Bernfield for the past two years. He considers himself equally proficient in all areas of accounting and
taxation, "the equivalent of a general practitioner in the medical profession," he joked.

While he works with a variety of companies in various sizes and types, Jeff said he especially enjoys working with manufacturing companies. "There's more to dig into," he explained.

With more than 30 years of experience, Jeff has the advantage of being able to offer a perspective on a wide variety of business issues that his clients appreciate.

A few years back, one client  was unaware of a fuel tax credit that Jeff realized was available.

"I knew about the tax credit;  he was eligible and I put two and two together," Jeff said.

The result was an additional $50,000  the client received from the government. Jeff said the client "was extremely excited" about the unexpected windfall.

Getting tax information to your accountant prior to the September 15 corporate tax deadline is crucial, according to Jeff, for good business management.

"The earlier you get your information to us, the better it is for everyone," he said.  "It gives us more time to plan and prepare."
