New Kavlico Pressure Sensors
We are switching our source of engine pressure sensors to solid-state Kavlico sensors starting January 2, 2012. Kavlico is a US company that has been making high quality sensors for over 50 years, and is well known in the aviation industry. Engine sensor kits will include these new solid-state sensors, and we have optimized the sensor ranges to better match engine pressure ranges offering greater resolution and accuracy. (The older sensors and kits are still available if needed.) These new solid-state sensors do require different wiring, with a third wire needed for 5-volt power. The new Kavlico Pressure Sensors are:NOTES: * All sensors are threaded 1/8-27 NPT. * All sensors may be used for any liquid. * The following shows the most common usage. SkyView Hands-On Training Class
We are offering free courses in the operation of SkyView at the US Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring, FL, January 19 - 22. The classes will last 3.5 hours and will be held in the mornings and afternoons on Thursday through Saturday and in the morning only on Sunday the 22nd. During the seminars you can work with real SkyView units, configuring them for various ground and flight operations.
Class size will be restricted to the first 15 people who sign up on the Dynon website: www.DynonAvionics.com/Training. The training classes will be held at the Chateau Elan Hotel and Conference Center adjacent to the Sebring Airport. Instruction will be provided by Kirk Kleinholz, CFII and SkyView expert. This first set of classes will be free, while future ones will have a fee.
Pilots will be guided through navigation exercises using the integrated VFR GPS moving map and flight planner. They will also configure as well as operate the autopilot for both VFR and IFR missions and locate and interpret the various types of data presented on the SkyView (winds aloft, TAS, density altitude, fuel computer, etc.).
For those pilots planning to switch from analog to digital/electronic instrumentation there will be opportunities to explore the benefits and compromises of glass panel systems, cockpit resource management and procedures for safe transition. |
Your Plane In Print!

I'm looking for ideas. Over the past two years the Dynon ads in Kitplanes and Sport Aviation have highlighted the experimental and LSA aircraft of our customers. The most recent ad features Stephen Christopher's RV-7 doing what he does... flying upside down. He is local to us so the background (with artistic license) is Seattle.
I'm running out of ideas. Do you have any good ideas for nice planes and backdrops to feature? Previous backgrounds included Seattle, Florida, France, Brazil, Yosemite, Utah, Hawaii, and Oshkosh.
This isn't really a contest, but if you have a nice photo of your experimental or LSA plane, along with a suggestion for a cool background, you might see your plane featured in an ad. (The location can be some place you've flown, or just wish you had flown!) If I use your idea you will get your plane in print and a really nice custom made poster to hang in your hangar.
If you have a photo and idea, email them to me at robert.hamilton(at)dynonavionics.com. |
