Session # 1

Understanding & Using Life Insurance Illustrations

Many Trust Owned Life Insurance (TOLI) Trustees struggle with understanding how to read life insurance illustrations, historically the only way to project the outcome of a policy under various scenarios. Life insurance illustrations are cumbersome and confusing, and there are admittedly many problems with relying on them for guidance. This webinar will provide you with information on how to read illustrations for the different types of life insurance policies most commonly available. It will also provide pointers and guidance on how to properly use illustrations to model different scenarios and policy outcomes. A workbook will accompany the webinar.

Session # 2

Vulnerability for the ILIT Trustee Due to Policy Pricing Suitability

Customer complaints, arbitrations and litigation involving life insurance product suitability are on the rise. Questionable life insurance industry sales practices in recent years have drawn the attention of the plaintiffs' bar. In response, many life insurance brokers and consultants (often former life insurance brokers) are now offering policy reviews. However, many of these policy review services are based on prevailing and still questionable sales practices and do NOT support prescribed fiduciary duties to investigate suitability. This one-hour webinar will help you discern the difference between policy reviews based on life insurance industry sales practices versus the research needed to document your duty to investigate suitability.

Session # 3

Score an Insurance Trust Trifecta!

This will be an exciting and informative webinar where you will learn how three companies have collaborated to provide trustees with support for all 3 required fiduciary duties, namely:

  1. Duty to monitor current TOLI holdings
  2. Duty to investigate the suitability of current or new TOLI holdings
  3. Duty to manage TOLI holdings so as to minimize expenses and maximize benefits relative to acceptable risk.

This integrated solution is the most comprehensive package for managing TOLI's while virtually eliminating fiduciary risks. Each company on their own is impressive, but when packaged together, you're sure to score a trifecta!
