Traffic Flow at the Holy Name Campus

Some newcomers to Holy Name might find our traffic flow at the school a bit confusing.  Therefore, we felt it might be helpful to explain it here in the newest edition of NAP News.

When you arrive at the campus and you are coming to drop off, pick up, or park up by the main entrance, you will enter the main driveway and turn right.  This road on our campus is one way and connects with our other road at the stop sign that faces the wind turbine.  This section of the road is always one way and leads into the school and to the road that is the only egress from the property.

At the main entrance the road to the left is not a one way road.  Rather, it serves as an entrance and exit road for students and staff that park up behind the gym area and in the student parking lot up near the top fields.

It is our hope to add some additional signage, road striping, and perhaps the repair of existing speedbumps and the addition of other speedbumps all with the idea of improving trafic flow in this area.

Thanks for all your cooperation.

Girls' and Boys' Varsity Basketball Teams have started the season with a BANG!

As of the writing of this newsletter both the boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams are undefeated!  In the latest edition of the rankings in the Worcester T&G, 12/27, the boys' team was ranked number 2 in the poll, while the girls' team was ranked #1.  Congratulations to all our players and coaches for their success.  We are all looking foward to an exciting season!  Please consider supporting our teams.  Follow the link to the athletic page to download a copy of the schedule.

New for 2012 - Student Work Corner

In this space we will be sharing some easy to share student work.  We hope this to be a place to showcase some of our students' creativity and talents.  This by no means can be a complete representation of all work, nor can we feature the work of all students.  However, this is just one small way we are trying to share some of the great things done by the students at Holy Name!

This poem was done in a senior English class.  The focus of the assignment was to write a poem to our new students sharing the senior student's perspective on Holy Name:

Join Us In Our Home

By: Kara Walsh

Welcome to our home,

A place where you are never alone.

Happiness and generosity roam the halls,

As creativity and art cover the walls.

Everywhere you go, you're met with kindness,

Smiles, laughter and joy, nothing less.

Learning is fun like a game,

Where nothing is ever the same.

Catholic community with constant caring.

Always open to so much sharing.

Classrooms filled with little Einsteins.

You'll never forget Holy Name and all its great times.
