HARVESTING PARTNERSHIPS EVENT
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
|
Our volunteers are truly the foundation of the Council and it is what makes our organization a tremendous success.
Take a look the Harvesting Partnerships Volunteer Sign-Up Form and see what area you would be interested in. To volunteer, you must be registered to attend this event.
"One of the best ways to get involved with the Women's Business Council - Southwest is to become a volunteer.
When I first volunteered for the Council, I found out how incredibly valuable serving can be not only for the council, but also for me.
While helping with new certifications, event registrations, and raffle sales, I discovered great opportunities to meet people and make contacts that I might never have had the chance to make. "

LILLIE KNOX INVESTING FOR GROWTH AWARD
| |
Who couldn't use extra cash to grow your business? By identifying a critical business need and completing the application you could potentially receive up to $5,000 cash!
Email your application to Alma Garcia.
The deadline to submit your application is July 31, 2012.
At the July Business Insights, a panel of past award winners discussed their experience with the application process, and how the award made a difference in their business.
2009 award recipient Keeli Jernigan of Trans-Expedite stated, "This is not a financial need based award, as long as you meet the criteria you are eligible. Your company's revenue is not a determining factor."
One of the 2009 winners, Royalyn Reid of
Consumer and Market Insights shared some insight on the award application, "Treat the application as you would a Proposal, the award is about GROWTH, determine what could make your company grow."
Cathy Dougherty of Dougherty Sprague Environmental, a 2011 award recipient had advise for those who are considering applying, "Don't think you are not deserving, if you have a business need, and the award would help you grow your business and give you an edge over your competition, just do it! Apply!"
You can view the presentation to learn more from these ladies, as well as from members of the award selection committee.

When Selling Isn't Enough
The dog days are over and in today's changing environment, keeping your competitive advantage is more important than ever. The old school style of selling that we have all learned will only take us so far, and now more than ever, there is much more to it than just prospecting and cold calls. But, it might require you to lose yourself and step out of your comfort zone a little!
We will talk about unique and inexpensive ways to stay in front of your customers and prospects that will get you noticed, right now!
In this session you'll learn how Passion and Purpose can help bring a spark to your daily grind, and how Breaking Paradigms and using Permission Marketing will innovate your business and take your marketing efforts to the next level.
You'll also want to come meet Matt Pickens with the Beck Group, who, along with other Beck representatives, will talk about how to do business with Beck, and their new Supplier Diversity goals for upcoming projects.
