I sure hope you are all reading this bi-weekly newsletter, because it's the perfect snapshot of all that's going on in the Council. It gives you important dates and opportunities in a concise and consolidated way. It's really our primary communication vehicle with the membership. Please encourage your fellow Council Members to rely on it for the most current information on all that the Council offers.
Another critical WBCS communication tool is our Web site which we just enhanced. You should have received an e-mail at the end of May announcing the new site and asking you to go online and access the members only section with your personal ID and password. Please take a couple of minutes to do that because I think you will be pleased with our new features. For one thing you can now post your Done Deals™ online, and we are now capturing WBE to WBE spend along with our longstanding practice of capturing corporate spend. Read about the deals that are being done and who's doing business.
We are also using the members' only portal to advertise bid opportunities being made available by any of our corporate or WBE members. This can be a real time-saver and link to opportunities and potential suppliers with just a click.
Our versatile calendar and listing of upcoming events is much more comprehensive and easy to access and we are showcasing our members in new and different ways. Check out our Lillie Knox recipients through the years and read about each of the members being "highlighted" on our home page.
Stay cool and safe as you travel this summer and I hope to see many of you at the WBENC National Conference in Orlando, Florida in just a few weeks!
