Alberta Youth Olympic Symposium
The Alberta Youth Olympic Symposium (AYOS) is an exciting leadership development program for Alberta high school students. It is a 3 1/2 day residential leadership development program. They are looking for 40 enthusiastic, leadership-focused students with an interest in leadership and sport.
The 19th session of AYOS will be May 3 - 6, 2012 in Calgary. Applications are being accepted now.
The application deadline is March 30th.

3rd National Symposium on Child & Youth Mental Health
The 3rd National Symposium on Child and Youth Mental Health will highlight some of the latest research, policy, and practice initiatives designed to address this complex problem in Canada. The symposium has been developed in partnership with the National Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Consortium, and the School-Based Mental Health and Substance Abuse Consortium. It aims to bring together service providers, policy makers, mental health professionals, educators, clinicians, and researchers, with youth and family caregivers, to share experiences and ideas on how best to shift knowledge into practice. The 3rd National Symposium on Child and Youth Mental Health will be held May 30 - June 1, 2012 in Calgary, Alberta. Find out more...

The 5K for $6G Contest is a school-based program, sponsored by AstraZeneca developed to encourage students, educators and their families to get active, challenge themselves and have fun together by participating in the Calgary Marathon AstraZeneca Family 5K, a race within the Calgary Marathon event on May 27th.
