Initiatives
KidSport Grant KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport. The KidSport Elite Performance Grant was created to provide financial assistance to athletes in Alberta who have been recognized at a provincial team level. The activities must be affiliated with a provincial sport organization. The grant is for children and youth 18 years and under.
Everyone Jump Does your classroom still want to participate in the Everyone Jump Educational Challenge but think you missed the submission deadline? The judging period has been extended and OPHEA will be accepting submissions up until February 28th!

HPEC 2011
The Health & Physical Education Council of Alberta hosts its annual conference in May, which provides an opportunity for participants to build skills & knowledge by networking & attending various professional development sessions which support the implementation of the Physical Education and Health programs of study. Health and physical education sessions will be offered over the two-day conference. Session proposals will be selected to ensure a balance of active, interactive & research-based presentations. Topics could include Games, Gymnastics, Individual Pursuits, Alternate Environments, Dance, Health and Life Skills, CALM, Daily Physical Activity (DPA), Inclusive PE, Intramurals and Athletics. Healthy School Communities Award
Hundreds of people and groups help make our school communities healthier for children and youth. Sometimes the good work of these people goes unrecognized. But you can help them get the recognition they deserve by nominating them for the Healthy School Communities Award!
