The Peaceful Artist

 Rhonda Musak with Flowers

I'm in great envy of Winnie the Pooh.

I'm thinking in particular of the Winnie the Pooh as illuminated by Benjamin Hoff in The Tao of Pooh, that open-hearted, wide-eyed fella who can't but help land squarely on his feet.  At this moment I'm sitting on my own personal battle line between desire and action... and I am envious.

Like any acting role, all of my blog posts have some part of me in them, but this one in particular goes to the core.

I have decided to be this personal because I don't believe that I am alone; I have met comrades in these trenches in many forms: friends, colleagues, and students.  I am speaking here of my personal struggle with finding a place of peace and flow that lies somewhere between the intersection of desire and action.

 LEAP With Passion into 2012!!!

December 3

 December 11

Greetings!
Is it really October? I am particularly amazed because on October 26, 2010 I officially launched Art & Soul Acting - HAPPY BIRTHDAY ART & SOUL ACTING!!!

As Art & Soul Acting set sail into the world, one of my goals was to deeply nurture it every single day. The result of having successfully done that (hooray!), gives me tremendous perspective as I take stock of where Art & Soul Acting is at the moment so that it can continue to grow stronger and more expansive in years to come.

I'm incredibly thankful for the accomplishments of this very first year:
  • 7 Book Club for Actors' Meetings focusing on 7 different playwrights
  • 2 Acting for Actor's Classes
  • The 3rd year of Leap with Passion!!! Workshop
  • The first Summer Acting Intensive for Teens
  • Guest Blogging for many different sites especially Daily Actor
  • The launch of Skype coaching
  • And numerous hours of private acting coaching
With much love and gratefulness I thank my wonderful acting students, book club members, workshop participants and blog readers for the privilege of holding the space for their highest levels of growth - it has indeed been an honor.

With deep respect and profound gratitude-

Rhonda

What's Up with the Book Club for Actors'?
 Connect

Remaining reading time - 1 week!

On Monday, October 10 and on Saturday, October 15 we will be discussing the plays of Tom Stoppard. The Book Club for Actors' has now expanded to two meeting per playwright! Please choose either meeting.

WHEN: Monday, October 10, 7-9 p.m. OR

      Saturday, October 15, 3-5 p.m.

WHERE: East Village Location... will be e-mailed with RSVP confirmation

Please begin by reading Arcadia. After that, feel free to read any play from the Tom Stoppard Reading List plays found on the Art & Soul Acting website: Tom Stoppard Reading List. For the most robust conversation, participants are asked to read at least 3-4 plays.

Be ready to share what you have discovered about this amazing playwright so we can all learn and grow together. Looking forward to it!
