The Actor Producer: Part II
In Part I of The Actor Producer (posted below), I discussed what inspired me step out of the audition line and ultimately cast myself in the title role of my dream project Ondine. In Part II, I have promised to start looking at concrete ways that an actor can accomplish stepping into the role of actor producer. (When I have completed all of my blog posts on this subject, I will put together a comprehensive list of steps so that you can really get going on this if you choose to. YOW-sounds exciting, right?)
In the process of choosing to produce myself in Ondine, I started with the only thing that I had available to me: vision. It wasn't hard to do as I had been thinking about and considering this play for years. Standing in auditions lines for open calls was also a great inspiration; the thought often came to me, "there mustbe a better way, as an actor, to use six hours a day!!!"

Greetings!
I come to you today from just outside the Windy City where my Summer Acting Intensive for Teens has already begun!
Each day I have been greeted by the most joyous, passion-filled students who are eager to learn and absorb the powerful acting techniques I love teaching.
Every day proves to be a turning point as my students begin to grasp new acting tools and apply them to the scenes that they are creating from near scratch. I can't tell you what a dream come true it is for me to support these amazing beings on their journey of growth.
They are helping me grow, too; I am realizing more and more that teaching acting is about teaching ONE huge and amazing lesson in 1000 different ways.
Wishing you exuberant August days, Rhonda Rhonda S. Musak Acting Coach Art & Soul Acting |
