What Does Your Mindset Have To Do with Acting? Everything.
One of the most life changing books that has come across my radar in recent years is a deceptively simple book that packs a major transformational punch: Mindset by Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D. I owe an abundance of gratitude to Ms. Dweck for her groundbreaking research, the results of which now positively impact my life in everything I do.
Simply put, we tend to function in one of two mindsets: a fixed mindset or a growth mindset. The fixed mindset is a limited way of thinking and being in which we see ourselves as forever the same: unable to be, learn, or do more than we currently can. Conversely, the growth mindset is a way of thinking and being in which we place focus on our inherent ability to learn which ensures that we grow and expand.

Greetings!
Sunny June greetings!
I'm thrilled that Mother Nature has finally turned up the dial and, as it's the unofficial start of summer, I ask you what you would like to turn up acting-wise if this summer were to serve you well? Perhaps it is taking a little extra break time so you can feel really refreshed by the beginning of fall, or maybe it's delving into a project that has always been on your radar.
At the beginning of a coaching or a class, my students always set their intention: Your clear and concise intention powerfully directs the way you pay attention.
A moment of focus in choosing what it is you want that is within your control to do something about can yield a mighty harvest down the line.

What's Going on with Acting Class?
Class began on April 29 and if you'd still like to join there is room! (4 sessions remaining; $220 for the remaining sessions)
Acting for Actors: Training & Expansion
WHEN: Fridays, 12noon-3pm
DATES: April 29-July 1 (a total of 10 Sessions)

Acting is a tactile skill that demands active participation and practice in order to achieve learning and mastery. The format of this class is designed for optimum student participation. Including a group warm up, each session brings together a series of powerful core acting exercises along with individual work slots. Students will ultimately choose the material they will work on, but they are also given guidance to ensure that their material suits where they are individually in the learning and growth process.
For their individual slots, students will have the opportunity to work on the following material:
- Scenes
- Monolouges
- Cold Readings
- Audition Prep
- Warm-Up Creation
- Solution Focused Breakdown
Class size is kept small so that participants have time to be up on their feet working, making mistakes, learning from their mistakes and growing into ever more powerful actors.
