United Way of Central Alberta's 2011 Campaign
Time to get excited! I am very proud to be the Co-chair of United Way of Central Alberta's 2011 Campaign. Along with Lars Rogers from CIBC, we are busy preparing for a fantastic campaign to raise much needed funds to ensure there is a better life for everyone in our community. Do you want to have fun? We would love for you to join us on this journey, come volunteer with us, you will not be disappointed!
We are looking for volunteers for our campaign cabinet and account executives who assist us in raising the money the agencies need in our community. Any extra funds raised this year will be allocated to programs helping kids be all they can be, but first we have to raise enough to fund the existing agencies so their programs continue to exist and are always available when someone in Central Alberta requires it.
1 in 3 Central Albertans will use an agency funded by United Way, maybe it's you, or your friend, your neighbor or your family and you may not even know they are using it. But it's wonderful that agency exists to provide the help. Let's all make sure this community stays great for everyone and the support will always be there when they need it!! Come join us!!!
Sherri A. Smith, C.G.A.
Co-chair, United Way of Central Alberta Controller, Proform Concrete Services Inc. |

To ensure that your announcement is posted for the week we want to remind you to use the dedicated email address for all your submissions, that way regardless of who is working on it that week we will have the information.
To ensure that you continue to receive your newsletters please add
newsletters@independentachievers.com to your safe senders list. You will be advised if the deadline changes for submissions in the coming months.
Submission Reminders In order to keep the preparation of this weekly announcement a reasonable time commitment for our volunteers we request the following: - Please submit your announcement by 7PM on Thursday evening (subject to change). This will allow for the announcements to be finished and emailed out for Friday mornings.
- Please submit the text of your announcement in one font and with one color only. Submissions with multiple fonts and colors are being copied into the newsletter and all formatting is lost. If you have a key phrase or piece of information that you would like to bold those can be done manually.
- If you prefer that your ad in exactly the colors and fonts you want please save them as a .pdf or a word file and they can be done with a headline and an 'open here' link.

Please send all requests for submissions to the Announcements to- newsletters@independentachievers.com |

Say "Thank You" with Some Style:
We are all wired to feel appreciated on a regular basis, however in our fast paced world today, we all miss acting on our promptings to appreciate those around us. Here are a few basic and simple tips to get you back to the basics.
1) Show genuine gratitude (don't use boxed cards with the inscribed thank inside, or they will think everyone gets the same) 2) Set aside time each day to write a note of appreciation 3) Get Personal in your message - (include the person's name in side your card and message) 4) Let them know of something you like about them 5) Have your kids write thank you notes, and perhaps include a photo of them doing something, or their drawing.
LET THE WORLD HEAR YOUR APPRECIATION - DAILY!
Looking for more inspiration and a print on demand service to get your promptings out to the world quickly? Then Save The Date of Tuesday, August 23, 2011 Drop In Format between 10:00am - 12 Noon ABC Restaurant Hosted by Jo-Ann Grimwood and Pam Bolton Come to our FREE COFFEE session to offer you tips and ideas (no matter what system or format you are using) Any RSVP's get name in our door prize draw!
