What has The Embracing Life Series meant to us? Debbie and Neil Driscoll
Neil and I have been involved with The Series for eight years and have witnessed many changed lives through the ministry. We, along with our 18 year old daughter, Bekah, first came to ELS in 2002 after Debbie was diagnosed and treated for cancer of the tonsil. The Series helped us put our lives back on track and heal the emotional and spiritual wounds we were carrying from the traumatic experience of having a life-changing illness. Staying involved with Embracing Life facilitates our ability to live life to the fullest, staying in the fight everyday against the "side effects" of the ongoing life-altering condition called "life". We still receive so much from each ELS we do and we get to watch God miraculously transform each participant's life in profound ways. |
"The foundational scripture for the Embracing Life Series is John 10:10 where Jesus says: 'I came that they may have life, and have it to the full.' Ever-increasing life in relationship with Jesus Christ is the focus and goal of the Embracing Life Series."

About The Embracing Life Series ELS is a 14-week Christian healing, discipleship group for those struggling with life-altering conditions such as HIV, cancer, diabetes, depression/anxiety, etc. and their loved ones and caregivers. The night is three hours of great interaction with teaching, sharing, small groups and prayer. Some of the topics covered are "Created in the Image of God", "Treatments and Faith", "Our New Identity", "Cultivating Intimacy with Christ" "Forgiveness, the Beginning of Healing" and "Breaking Free from the Spirit of death". All the varying topics in the Series encourage an enthusiastic faith-filled embrace of the abundant life and a corresponding freedom from death and its influences. Our final night is a wonderful dinner with amazing testimonies to the glory of God!
Trainings have been held in various U.S. cities and countries to equip the Body to facilitate these groups. Contact us if you have an interest in having this brought to your area. If you have any questions, you can call us at (626)798-7398. |

Quote of the Month
"Instead of leading to absolute quietude and serenity, true spiritual growth is characterized by increasingly deep risk taking. Growth in faith means a willingness to trust God more and more, not only in those areas of our lives where we are most successful, but also, and most significantly, at those levels where we are most vulnerable, wounded and weak. It is where our personal power seems most defeated that we are given the most profound opportunities to act in true faith.".
[Embracing Life Series Workbook, a quote by Gerald May from his book, Addiction and Grace]
