2012 Outdoor Room
Take a Spa-Cation at SolSpring! Thanks for voting us the #2 Spa in West Michigan!

Summer is the season for vacations - time away with your family, friends or even by yourself. Time to regroup and recharge your batteries. Research shows that people who take vacations are less stressed and healthier than people who do not. But what if you're not able to get away as often - or as long - as you'd like? Consider a mini spa-cation. No overnight  packing required, very little gas needed and you'll come away feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. For the month of July, if you book a massage in the outdoor room, you will receive a free votive candle! Call today to schedule your very own spa-cation at SolSpring, the # 2 spa in West Michigan.

Words from Bonnie,
SolSpring Owner & Director
 "Connections"

The dictionary defines "connection" as a "link, association , interaction or relationship." Many of us are finding we have more "connections" with our electronic devices that we do with people, at least some of the time. I just returned  from spending 40+ hours in the car with my family and we found that our best times were when we were laughing, hugging and talking with each other.  I think we can never overestimate the power of human connections and face to face interactions. From birth to death,  all people respond in positive ways to touch, voices and smiles. This month, we are proud to sponsor the Greatest Kazoo Duck Race, a fundraiser for Hospice of Southwest Michigan. Hospice is a wonderful organization that allows dying people to spend their final days surrounded by love, dignity and lots of human "connections." I have been privileged to share the gift of massage with many Hospice patients and I can truly say that the power of touch was very evident - on both sides.

Natural Home Remedies for Sunburn

Milk: may relieve the pain and discomfort. Dip a cotton gauze into room temperature milk and apply it to your burn. Allow it to sit about 20 minutes, then gently rinse it off.

Vinegar & Baking Soda: Soak in a tub of cool water laced with one half cup vinegar and a box of baking soda.

Aloe Vera: The leaves of this plant contain a thick, sticky substance that can provide cooling relief from the pain of too much sun. Remove a leaf, split it open and gently rub the inner substance on your sunburn.

Of course, it always best to avoid a sunburn in the first place. Stay in the shade during the hottest part of the day, wear light colored clothing that "breathes," wear sunglasses and a sun hat and generously use a sun protection product.
