Bonnie's Husband "Make Wellness a Habit" We just watched our firstborn child graduate from high school last week. It made me wonder - have I done enough as a father to impart knowledge and wisdom to my children about how to stay healthy, happy and well? Over the years, I have tried to model how to make wellness a habit. I schedule regular workouts, massage and sauna visits. I try to eat right and make good choices about my food. Do I get stressed out occasionally and not make time to take care of myself? Yes - and when that happens, my body is quick to tell me so. As a family, one way we stay bonded (and healthy) is to give each other foot massages as we are watching TV at night. I have also learned to say "no" to some things, so that I can say "yes" to the things that matter the most, like being present at my kids' activities. Being a husband and father are the most important roles in my life. Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. You really do have a tremendous impact on your children's lives. |
