Time for Pedicures and Facials

facial
Before you walk down the aisle or dance the night away at the prom, visit SolSpring for an organic facial and a pedicure.
Delight in a full hour of pampering with the luxurious Eminence Organics line of skincare products. Spa facials are a popular favorite, but we also offer anti-aging and corrective treatments for conditions like rosacea and acne. According to skin care professional, Carol Morrison, "The Eminence products are designed so that a session can be created just for your skin type. Facials treat a variety of skin concerns such as sun damage, acne, loss of vitality, premature aging and wrinkling, seasonal changes, tone and radiance." A facial with Eminence products is a treat for your senses - it smells good enough to eat!
When you want to focus on your feet, Solspring offers three types of pedicures: the Classic Pedicure, the Raw Earth Spa Pedicure and the Marine Spa Pedicure. All three pedicures refresh and beautify the feet naturally. SolSpring pedicures make your toes look pretty, but they also provide relief for painful callouses and dry skin.

A one-hour Organic facial costs $65. Pedicures range from $45 to $65. Call 269-373-1000 to schedule your appointment.

The Science and Art of Acupuncture

The purpose of acupuncture is to stimulate communication pathways within the body in a very specific manner to enhance homeostasis and health. Pre-sterilized, single-use disposable needles are placed at specific points in the body. The needles are very small, more like hairs with handles.
    The first visit with the
licensed acupuncturist, Paul Janson, at Kalamazoo Acupuncture at SolSpring lasts about 90 minutes. Prior to receiving acupuncture, Janson conducts an interview and evaluates the client's overall state of health, including the state of the person's  "qi", prounounced 'chee'. Qi is inherent in all living things and when pain or illness are experienced it is a result of imbalances or blockages in qi. Acupuncture helps to re-establish the smooth flow of qi.
"Acupuncture does not feel at all like you might think it does," says Janson. "The sensation that you feel when receiving a treatment is either nothing at all, or something like a deep ache or a heaviness around the area where the needle is."
Subsequent acupuncture appointments last about an hour. Acupuncture can be used to help ease a wide range of physical conditions, from stress and pain to metabolic, fertility and digestive disorders. Smoking cessation is also a popular reason for people to try acupuncture.
